Signed in to my account today and got a message that "My profile is not searchable right now. Find out why."

The last bit was clickable and doing so popped up a box with this text:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seeking Selfie Verifications just got better!
Now, you can replace the old photo verification with a quick selfie—making profile verification faster, more secure, and more authentic.

Get Noticed with Your Verification Badge
Complete selfie verification to appear in searches by members who filter for verified profiles.

Show You're Real
Let others know it's really you in your photos

Fast and Easy
Verification takes less than 30 seconds
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then two buttons at the bottom:
Maybe later
Verify Now.

Underneath this message, my edit profile screen came up and my profile name field was highlighted in red with a message that I had to enter my first name in the profile field. I use a profile name that does not include any proper name.  There was another box on the side of my screen, but I didn't capture the text from it.

My profile is currently hidden, so I don't know if that was related to triggering all this. But....

I then logged into my alternate (female) profile I use for research and saw the same messages. I checked "her" settings and all of the Your Activity Options with Visible/Hidden switches are greyed out - defaulted to "Visible." So, she is visible in search, but it looks like I may need to abandon this account, as "she" does not exist and of course, I will never be able to verify "her."

Anyone else see this yet?

Eventually, probably later today, I will complete the selfie verification process, and I expect that means I will also need to change my profile name to be, or at least include, my first name. Perhaps I can use a different first name?  I'll report on the experience and process later.

Haven't logged in for some time but went window shopping today and got that message. I don't care if my profile isn't searchable; I am always invisible in searches mainly to evade the annoying spam from abroad. I am not planning to rejoin anytime soon so I'll have to decide down the road how I want to handle it should I change my mind.

I got a similar message. (maybe the same thing??)  I tried to follow the prompts and got as far as the selfie, but my computer does not have a camera on it.  They offered an option of scanning a code box to switch to a different device, so I grabbed my phone and scanned it.  But then I was stuck, no idea how to proceed.  I have a nice photo of the code on my phone now, what do I do with it?

Herb I got the same message. Looks like we may all be required to show ID/Validate our pics to remain on the site? I keep my profile hidden so I also got the same 'your profile is hidden' in red as you did.

In my case, I just verified using a selfie that confirms my pictures are me. I didn't have to submit any ID or change my user name, but I already had a couple of verifications including Facebook.

But since my profile is hidden anyways, I am going to let it be and ignoring for now

If it’s only a selfie and not ID requirement , I can probably send a photo of myself , my main concern was not giving them my driver license

I noticed you can search by filter for those with selfie verification. So we can weed out a lot of the fakes and SBs might feel more confident on the platform. Obviously not perfect but it might be good.
I don't know what this means for guys who have no pics or hidden ones.. so it might make it harder for them.

It will be interesting (perhaps frustrating?) to see how this plays out over the next 2-3 months.  I was not able to go through the process yesterday - had a SB date to plan as well as keeping one eye on all the evacuation warnings.

Between the time my SB grabbed an Uber and the time she arrived at my home, I received an evac warning for my area. She was 20 minutes late due to excessive fire-related traffic as well.  When she arrived, I explained the situation and told her it wouldn't be prudent (but might be exciting) to get naked and go horizontal when a "GET OUT" order could be coming at any moment. She understood, especially when I told her we can still go out locally to eat and that I would still provide her allowance. In turn she (credibly) told me she'd meet again on Saturday for a make-up BCD if desired (and if I still had a house. LOL).

We chatted for a bit and about 30 minutes before we needed to go to dinner, the warning was dropped. No need for me to pack and bug out.  About 2 minutes after I gave her that update, she had my cock in her mouth and was begging Daddy to feed her a pre-dinner appetizer.

THIS!  This is why I love Sugar Dating.

After a quick tidy-up we headed out to dinner. When we left the restaurant, she told me she'd be staying overnight - something she had never done before.  I didn't sleep well last night. But that was not due to the fires.... :)

Ok that took about 3 minutes.   I didn't get back to the site until the next day. I started the process by clicking the "Verify now" button. A screen popped up asking me to allow access to my PC camera and I allowed it.

Then a template popped up with my face view (from my camera) inside an oval shape. I had to lean forward until my face mostly filled the oval and then clicked a button. Got a confirmation that my selfie was received was under review.

Maybe 2 minutes later, I got an email confirming my validation.

I was not asked to display or submit my ID and was not asked to supply any other PII (Personally Identifiable Information). I was also not forced to change my profile name (yet) which does not contain my first name.

Here's the text of the confirmation email I received:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the by, I am obviously still searchable. I logged in to window shop and when I was done I did not deactivate, yet had a few views and even a few messages from those I did not view, which I cannot answer at this time as I have no interest right now.

I have no photos on SA at present. Never have had any face photos on there, and I never will, though I have had body.

So, how can a selfie "validate" anything? How can that possibly work?

Seems like SA are intent on eliminating the social group that previously formed over 50% of their paying subscribers - attached men, requiring discretion.

At the moment it seems to be an extra layer of verification and not something mandatory. That could however change, and some dating sites are requiring it

Remember Senor Wences?  "Deefeecult for you, easy for me".  (man I'm getting old to use that reference!)  Anywho, this morning I tried to get photo verified again.  This time I got through the prompt asking me to scan the code to go to a different device. (my PC has no camera).  Got going with it on my phone, followed the URL and got to a screen saying in part: "tap filter icon next to the browser."  Wtf does that mean?  I tapped every icon on the screen and got nowhere.  I'm stumped!

Based on the SD profiles I've seen with my SB "Research" account, my non-scientific empirical observation (in other words: guess), is about 80% of SD profiles have at least one face pic. Although perhaps 10% of those face pics are not the primary that can be seen in search results.

And as someone else opined, I will also speculate that profiles without face pics and/or without selfie verification will probably not be deleted or deactivated (for some time). But as selfie verification becomes the norm over the next several months (years?), SB's will be less likely to message or reply to those profiles.

If a POT can find several dozen or more active and verified profiles in her area, why would she take time to connect with non-verified POT's?

All just my WAG (wild-ass guess), of course.

That is a higher percentage than I remember, when I did "opposition research". Not been able to do that for a while though, since they made it harder to register - I made the mistake of simply using one time use temporary profiles, rather than having a permanent  other me.

But to answer your main point: I never found not having a face photo to be a problem, so long as there was a body photo. [Which was of a body double]. I always made it clear in an intro message that I was willing to share a face photo - but only if we got to the stage of talking off of SA. That usually worked. A few exceptions, but they were exceptions.

Re: What if you have no photos?

I appreciate that. But what I am querying is how can giving them a selfie provide "verification" if there is noting to compare it to? I don't have a face photo on there, and don't intend to have one. Without such a photo, it seems to me that a selfie can't provide meaningful verification of anything. So, my guess is that there is a second requirement built into this exercise - that you have to have face photos on SA, or provide ID.

I think you are correct.  The last time I had to make a new profile on SA I was told a photo was mandatory.

Surprised by the large number of SB in the Chicago area who have signed up with selfie verification

I guess that’s a good thing

Path of least resistance? Another possible fix is to buy (or borrow) a webcam for your PC. Search for "add-on webcam" or stuff like that, e.g.,
http://www.amazon.com/external-webcam-laptop/s?k=external+webcam+for+laptop
Hmmm ... mostly $16 and up. You can probably find a cheapie for $10.
.
Do you live near anyplace with helpful sales guys? MicroCenter, BestBuy, Circuit City "(man I'm getting old to use that reference!)" :-) , Radio Shack "(man I'm getting old to use that reference!)" :-) ... even a local computer / repair shop. You can probably find a cheap one or even used one on eBay. You might have a friend with a drawer full of parts from the days BEFORE built-in cams. Should be plug-and-play and clip onto your laptop or PC screen.
.
Good luck!

Most of your search results will start with one or usually two "Premium" profiles. These are outlined in gold and show POT's who have paid accounts. It's important to note that these may not meet your filter selections for age, body type, body type, etc.  The only filter's they "honor" appear to be distance and any "Don't Show Me" tags you set.

I can also confirm they don't honor the Selfie Verified filter.

I was looking at a POT that popped up 1st in my search.  It was a premium, and the pic showed what looked like a candid shot of "her" sitting at her work desk, on the phone. But upon closer inspection the pic had problems:
1. Sitting at an awkward position, more like she was showing off her outfit than actually talking on the phone and looking at her PC monitor.
2. Desk had a large Apple monitor with some generic shot on the screen. There was no laptop or desktop pc visible.
3. The keyboard and mouse were not "Apple" style.
4. There was a paper scratch pad next to the keyboard, with a pen on it and no writing. The pad was placed where the mouse should be, and the mouse was several inches further away out of reach of her right hand.
5. No clutter on the desk or walls. There was only the bare minimum of stuff in the area to indicate "work desk." Nothing on the walls, no personal items, no charts, pics, company logo or info sheets, no pen cup, paper clips, stapler, or anything that would make you think this is a real person's workstation.

Other than being a Premium account, there were no other blue checks on the profile. That is unusual. If you are going to pay, it seems stupid not to at least verify one social like FB or LinkedIn, etc. And new profile without selfie verification seems like a yellow flag now as well.

So beware the "premium" profiles. Don't let the paid status lower your guard or distract from yellow or red flags.
