I wouldn't be so sure. This wasn't a regular scammer. As far as I can tell, she wasn't a catfish, she didn't want transfers of money up front, or video only contact. No, she actually wanted to meet guys in person, so as to drug them and gain access to credit card and bank account information via direct access. Then wheeled the victims across the border into Mexico in wheel chairs while drugged, so as to dispose of them.

According to a NYT article, a Nevada woman is in custody in Mexico for the murder of 3 older men she met using Tinder. A fourth barely survived, after emerging from a 5 day drug induced coma.  Authorities believe there may be many other so far unidentified victims.

The numbers above are from a NYT article, which is behind a paywall. I found a free article on a UK paper with different numbers of victims.

... not "selfie-verified?" :P

Definitely an important cautionary tale for all of us.   Thanks for sharing.

This sort of predator preys on the most vulnerable, i.e., men who are lonely, desperate for affection, and totally clueless about the scams and scammers out there.  I think all of us experienced in the sugar bowl would have our red flags and alarms screaming well before we got close to someone like her.  In other words, nothing for us to worry very much about.

What are the chances that some of the Woke, #MeToo crowd will say this woman is a victim of abuse, or trafficking? I bet some will even go so far as to say she is some sort of heroine for being part of the Resistance, and standing up to the Patriarchy.

Let's not diminish the #MeToo "crowd." There are many victims out there who deserve sympathy. I guess you would call me "woke" as I have certain viewpoints you would disagree with, but in no way, shape or form would I excuse this woman's behavior. There is no evidence in what little is available that she was a victim in any sense.

More details in attached CNN article. One victim was drugged at initial M&G in restaurant, apparently kept drugged, driven across border, and found dead in Mexican hotel room.

Accused was married, and a "perfect wife". Hubby claims he had no idea.
