Hey everyone, just need some advice from the experienced guys.  How do you guys search for girls on the SA site. Do you always filter by FWB or NSA tags? Do you avoid profiles without these tags?

If a girl doesn't have these tags, does it mean they are only willing to provide companionship or friendship, and wont have sex?

...are age and has photos.  Filtering for "FWB" and/or "NSA" yields disappointing results.  Something that I've heard repeatedly from POT's once in their company and discussing an arrangement is that they aren't an escort, so attaching those tags to a profile would, I think, be counterintuitive.  OTOH, posting on a sugar site would seem to be an implicit suggestion that one understands the dynamic of sugaring.  The for sure "wont have sex" girls are the profiles that have the word "platonic" in them.

There are several past posts here about the best use of filters. I advise you to search for them (keyword filter) to get more insight. Don't expect a POT to have professionally written, well thought out profile... That's what we do. :p And don't expect a POT SB who uses a term like FWB, NSA, or casual dating, to mean what WE think it means, with the possible exception of "platonic." Finally, stay away from using any direct reference to sex or sexual acts in your profile and your messages. That's a fast trip to ban town forever.  

 
For me, I use the following as my standard or default search. Note you can save multiple searches for easy access later.  

 
Radius: 10 miles
Age: 18-35
Body Type: Slim and Athletic
Smoking: Non-smoker
Tags: I exclude "Seeking Trans friendly" and "Seeking Transgender"  
Sort order:  Newest. And once I scan the newest profiles, I switch it to Recently Active  

 
That's it.  I generally only look at profiles that have been active in the last 3 days, preferably they are online now or in the last 8 hours. Longer offline times can be stale...  

 
If I'm not seeing anything interesting I play with radius (increase to 25) or add body type Average, or add a keyword (wine, bikini, mentor, etc.).  

 
Please experiment and let us know what works for you, as well as your general market location.

Herb, for example lives in the LA area, so a 10 mile radius still results in huge numbers of POTs for him. Where I live, a 10 mile search results in a mere 133 hits, of which only 23 have been active in the [past 3 days! If I adopted his search limits I'd never get laid!

Where I live, I search my home town plus 100 miles.  That's the only way to include the college town nearby. I limit my search to 18-35, slim, athletic, and average. No other filters. I get a total of 1600 hits, only 300 or so active within the past 2 weeks!  But I work with what UI've got, and do quite well.

As for search words or preference boxes, it can be fun to search for terms like FWB and see what pops up.  I do think you'll score a higher percentage of success with girls who use the FWB term, that is, if they think it means a sex positive attitude as we do.  But most of my successful arrangements have been with girls who never put FWB in their profiles, so don't worry about the lack of this term being a deal breaker.

The only times I make an exception to my normal search style is when I'm traveling to a distant city and hoping for some BCD companionship while I'm there.  All I can offer is a one time thing plus $.  So in those cases I usually do limit my searches by including the term FWB.  I know there are probably many others who might like to hook up, but the ones who use FWB in their profiles are much more likely to be ok with entertaining an out of town visitor for a one time thing.

Does it really matter much jumping to the Diamond level or can a guy get by at the premium level?  What are the limitations at Premium and are there additional charges for messages etc?

Somehow when I renewed my regular premium 90 day membership the system bumped me up to Diamond and charged me a nominal fee for the first month, with of course a message stating I would be autobilled $200+ each month from there on out. I canceled just as soon as I could, but it take a few days for them to undo what they did.

 
To tell the truth I was actually kind of surprised just how many more messages I got over those few days as a Diamond member, not that the conversion rate was any better AND I got a much higher percentage of POT's with GPS, but I will concede I got a LOT more POTs messaging me first, and not just from Venezuela and the Philippines lol  

 
Personally I am quite happy with my regular premium membership, but I will concede it's probably not a total waste of money like I once thought it would be. I just don't need dozens of POT's contacting me. I am quite happy keeping a rotation of 4-6 SB's which usually requires finding perhaps one new SB each month to make up for attrition and to keep things fresh. I honestly don't have the time or the energy to try to keep a rotation in the double digits right now, but there was a time... lol

When A SB has clicked the box indicating an interest in a Platonic arrangement, or has used the term Platonic in her profile, that's usually a red flag and an immediate pass for most of us.  But I don't exclude Platonic in my searches because there are outliers occasionally.  Just this morning a new profile popped up in my area.  She did check the Platonic box.  But in her profile she stated: " I am very open to a lot of things, and I am very comfortable and open with my body." So that seems to indicate she has a sex positive attitude.  I think I'll message her and see where it goes!

For example, back in the 1970s, there was a swingers club in NYC called Plato's Retreat, that was very well known.  There was even a disco song written about it.

Perhaps some people think it means sexual, rather than the opposite.

Some say they select platonic not because they only seek that, but as an option if the POT SD is looking for it. As if.

I'd probably say the use of the term "platonic" is a yellow flag, as the context for it's use is important.  

 
If, as PaPa Sweet mentions, there are additional comments about "open to anything" or "looking for new experiences" or "we can see where it goes," she may be open to an arrangement that "grows" into intimacy.  On the other hand, comments like "tired of creeps asking for one time meet ups" or "I need to be treated with the respect I deserve," then just move on.  

 
For those POT's I've met who had platonic in their profile in some way, I never addressed it specifically. I just covered in my expectations that our arrangement would lead to intimacy as we build trust and comfort with each other. It's never been a hard stop. But, often we don't find a meeting of the minds in other aspects of our negotiations.  

 
Also, as has been pointed out, I'm in a target rich market. The search filters I describe above consistently yield about 790 hits, with at least 75 being active in the last 3 days. If I relax any single filter a bit, say add "average" body type, my yield goes up to 1200+. And if I increase my radius from 10 miles to 25, my yield pops to over 10,000.  Which is why I always say...
