Prostate Biopsy Erection questions

I am 56 and in good health, but had to have a prostate biopsy(negative) because of a rising PSA in late July. Since then I seem to have some issues maintaining an erection without contact(touching). When changing positions, or some slight pause in contact I will soften up. I can always ejaculate once and was sometimes able to go twice, although I have not been able to come twice in a session since the biopsy. Could this change be related to the biopsy? Is my age likely to be the cause? Is it early stages of ED? BTW I have never taken any ED meds. Are there any supplements that should help? I tried goat weed once before and could not tell any difference.

Dear feelingalittlelimp,

This is a medical question and should be directed to a licensed physician. NOTE TO ALL READERS: IF I SEE ANY ADVICE ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS POSTED BY SOMEONE WHO CANNOT PUBLICLY VERIFY HIS/HER MEDICAL LICENSE, I WILL PULL THE POSTING.

All I can tell you is that andropause [the equivalent of female menopause, but for men] has been implicated in erectile disorders. Please see link if the word "andropause" is unfamiliar to you. Being 56 and in good health does not avert andropause - it happens to EVERY MAN, sooner or later. And again - ED is one of the effects of andropause. It doesn't happen to every man out there, but it is extremely common.

Beyond maintaing an extremely healthy diet, engaging in regular exercise and consulting with an andrologist, I do not advocate any unverified supplements on this board.

Please see a urologist who is also specialized in andrology,
