Just logged in and got this as a banner notice in red at the top of the screen"

"On January 1st, the price of premium memberships is increasing. Subscribers lock in the current price. If you’re unable to subscribe, please go to https://www.seeking.com/help/ticket to contact support. Otherwise, subscribe to lock in your rate!"

Clicking on the link to subscribe brings this additional info:

"Price change! On January 1st 2021, a 30 days premium membership will cost $99.99, and a 90 days premium membership will cost $269.99. Lock in the current rates with a subscription"

I am already set to auto-renew my 90 day sub at $239.85 in Feb. But I can't tell if after the next auto-bill my rate will go up as well...

Not a huge increase (12.5%) within the entire scope of my sugar budget. The 90 day sub rate is less than the typical allowance I pay for a single BCD Date. So if I'm getting 3-4 dates a month for three months, that's 12-16 BCD's plus one more (small) allowance. That means my SA sub = less than 8% of my three month sugar budget, or you could think of it as a $16-18 premium per BCD.

If you do the same math but typically get 2-3 BCD's a week, then even at the new sub rates, the additional cost is negligible at about an $8 premium per BCD.

And now I have combined two of my favorite skills:  Sex with young, ripe hotties and ROI projections. Nice!

This is interesting and I do hoe we are all grandfathered in at our existing rates.  Nevertheless it reminds me of the dichotomy in Sugar Dating: the men pay significantly to participate, the women get in for free.  Now, this is just the nature of the universe so I'm not bitching about it.  What I do wish they would do is publicize the fact!  None of the SBs I ever met had any clue that it costs us money just to be on the Seeking website.  It's free for them, not for us.  The new 3 month rate you discovered translates to $1079.96 per year.  I think some worthy attitude adjustment might occur if a SB wanna be joining SA was made aware of this fact.

I'm not sure SBs care that it costs us anything to belong. After all, we're "rich" in their eyes, which to them means we don't have to think about money. In reality, the opposite is true for almost anyone who has wealth.

More than once a SB has said to me the equivalent of, "You've got it, so hand it over." :)

All good observations, PaPa Sweet. But I doubt SA will ever lean towards telling SB's what an SD pays to play on the site.

They do however, push and sometimes get SB's to pay for premium service. What does a paid SB get?

This is from the SB's Upgrade page:
Premium Benefits:
1- Advanced Privacy: Add another layer of privacy. Hide your online status, join date, and last login country.
2- Advanced Search Filters: Be in full control when searching for the right person. Unlock advanced search filters.
3- Inbox Filters: Fine-tune which users and messages get into your inbox and which get filtered out.
4- Saved Member Notes: Keep notes on Successful members who catch your eye.
5- Read Message Receipts: Did they read your message yet? Be sure by receiving read receipts on every message.
6- Ad-Free Experience: No more ads for you! Remove the clutter and enjoy a truly elevated dating experience.

Rates:
One-Time package: $14.95/30 days, billed one time for 3 months @ $44.85 (so it's really 90 days at $0.4983/day). (There is no 30-day only package.)
Subscriptions:  $19.95/30 days and rebilled every 30 days (most expensive plan for SB's),  or $44.95/90 days, rebilled every 90 days.

That all works out to about $0.4983 per day for the lower cost per day plans, or about $181.89 annually.

So generally, SB's who do pay for premium are  paying around 16.8% of what an SD pays, or you could say they get a 83.2% discount.

Of the benefits listed above, my opinion is that #'s 2, 5, and 3 are the most useful, and in that order.

My guess is that experienced (not necessarily pros or semi-pros) SB's may opt to pay to optimize their search and selection process, figuring that if they get at least one allowance of $200 per year it's not really an out of pocket expense, and if they can reduce the overall "search-to-1st date" time from weeks, to days (or days to hours!), it's worth the savings in time and convenience. Proving that some SB's actually can do a ROI and breakeven analysis.  :p

And I write this after just having a fresh 24 year old, submissive, Latina who was surprised to learn over our chicken kabob lunch that making the minimum payment on her only remaining open credit card would not actually reduce her balance, buy may actually increase it. That little tidbit of wisdom got me a bonus BBBJNQNSCIMWS before she headed home to her aunt's house. Because....

of what it costs me to keep the harem together.  lol
However, that having been said: I never cease to wonder why there isn't any real competition.
He put together a nice business model but there are many ways of doing it better and attracting a better tier of girls.

I agree but who is the "he" in your last line? Are you referring to Mr. W?

I believe he is referring to Brandon W, yes.

And let's not forget that SA isn't his first dating site. He had WhatsYourPrice up and running for at least 1 or 2 years before SA.

increasing its price, please? It's not named not identified in your discussion.

Thank you.

LT,

I am talking about the main sugar dating web resource recommended by the majority of posters here: Seeking Arrangement (or just "Seeking" or "SA").

If you search past posts, you will see many references to that site, as well as occasional discussions and comparisons to other sugar dating sites. If you take an hour or so to review past posts, you will find an invaluable amount of useful data and lessons learned through experience.
