You can't tell from the activity itself whether something is wrong. It is how the activity affects the quality of that person's life. That information is not visible. Chill.

Some folks enjoy the hobby to obtain sexual variety, but others get obsessed to the point of spending untold hours on fuck boards, posting on every topic and reply to each response they get.  Is there something wrong with them?

I like your rhetorical question because I think you've already drawn your own conclusion.

Some people spend lots of time collecting stamps, collecting sports memorabilia, watching and reading about sports, watching movies, reading books, etc.  Other people enjoy participating on boards about cars, electronics, computers, knitting quilts, etc.

Is there something wrong with them?  Nope.  You just seem to have a negative view of people on boards like this one.

There's nothing wrong with them.

"Wrong" with them, ASheepNamedDolly?

Who knows? Without conducting in depth mental exams or at least meeting the individuals in question, it is impossible to say. I am sure that if you conducted investigations, you would find the distribution of mental dysfunction along an expected bell curve. Aside from that, there are probably some individuals who feel compelled to answer all sorts of postings, or even ask questions that may or may not pertain to the venue at hand, just as long as said people see their names in print. The Internet as a medium has facilitated this, and many do get satisfaction and enjoyment out of it.

FYI, I do not consider The Erotic Highway a "fuck board." We address all sorts of psychosexual questions here, not just about sex but also about relations that do not necessarily pertain to sex acts. I don't see a preponderance of the same individuals posting over and over here, but that may be because I don't permit threads to run amok with innuendoes, hostility or "trolling."

I am sorry, but without making spurious conjecture, it really is impossible to answer your question in great detail,

We live in the internet age.  I wouldn't be in such a big hurry to equate participating on any message boards as having some sort of obsession related to the topics of that message board.

"but others get obsessed to the point of spending untold hours on fuck boards, posting on every topic and reply to each response they get.  Is there something wrong with them?"

I grew tired of knitting after I found commenting  to fuck board topics was relaxing, and took less concentration.
BTW "some" people thought something was wrong with me when I was into knitting.
The moral of the story..No matter who you are or what you do, there are millions of people with closed eyes, who believe something is wrong with you, because you are not molded just like them.

Cast your line and you never know what nibbles you might get.  Someone reads something you wrote and it compels them to PM you and the next thing you know you're humping.

Its kinda like the lottery.  You gotta play to win.

I participate on multiple boards with hundreds of aliases, and I don't think there is anything wrong with it. It is just something I like to do, and sitting at a computer all day makes it easy.

I get a lot of enjoyment out of the hobby and that includes posting on the boards. I would not call it an obsession in my case, but I do spend a lot of time here.

Prior to my discovery of TER back in 2003, I was on other boards most not hobby related. I spent time on gaming boards, news websites, chat rooms and ebay. I now just spend less time on them and more on TER. Like I said, it is simply something that I like to do.

BTW, I still have time to do my work, raise my family and have a real life outside of TER and the hobby. I even have time to party.

Maybe I should be cloned ;)
