Yes, she gets points for honesty. But in fact, we've all been exposed to the herpes 2 virus many times, so her honesty is unnecessary.   Official estimates are that 1 out of 6 adults have the virus.  I expect the real number is much higher since many who have it are asymptomatic and don't know they have it. But let's say the real number is only 1 in 6.  If you've had more than 6 sex partners you've most likely been exposed.  And if you've had hundreds of sex partners, you've been exposed many, many times. It's not a life threatening illness.  My takeaway is that if you want to avoid HSV2 remain celibate.  If you choose to be sexually active, use common sense, use condoms, don't have sex during an outbreak, but beyond that, don't worry about it.
