It's so frustrating.
In most cases I don't think the POTS themselves are aware of the double standard when mentioning $$$ while on the platform. When they do, it would seem best to err on the side of caution for me to not reply. It's been happening a lot lately though and I'm pissed because some of these POTS look great, and if they are for real, an opportunity to meet them is lost.
I messaged with one hot profile just last week. We exchanged a few cordial hellos and how's it goings and then I proposed we get in touch offline to discuss meeting. her reply:
"before we continue, I’m seeking a generous partner who will treat me financially every time we get together, is that you?$$$"
Well, that means game over, because if I reply it places me at risk of a ban.
Even by replying 'Let's discuss offline' or 'The site has changed it's focus from financial arrangements to more traditional dating,' a reply might still trigger a ban. Such a reply would also suggest to the POT I may not be looking for an arrangement but looking for vanilla dating.
I know several here on this board have suggested various methods of handling it, including to reply to go offline, others have advised to not reply.
Nobody really knows for sure and I don't want to risk it.
