A large percentage of chicks are passive followers.  They are hoping you will entertain them.  That's why they paint with such broad strokes.  They don't really know and don't want to exclude anything.

on the subject of cats, one peculiarity I have observed - of the six girls in my rotation (5 I have seen and 1 I haven’t gone bcd w yet) — ALL  of them have pets - either a cat or a dog

 while i don’t have a pet myself , I spent some time researching on how to flatter pet owners - cat people apparently respond differently than dog people. Anyways, It has come in handy in keeping them happy.  

Problem is now my sideline burner app is full of cat and dog pics — I am like wtf can you send some nudes of yourself instead,  jk  

I think you may be on to something here. I have been on SA for a month and just realized that all five POTs out of 20+ that have moved or will move on to M&G from initial messaging are girls that took the time to write a decent bio and seeking section. The ones Herb described just came across as boring (best way I can describe it) even on text. Hell, I can go to the pros for that if all I want to is a hole w/ no conversation
