I've been more focused on the potential impact to my tax bill, completely went brain dead on what it would do to the available pool. Your view that many will not even enter the bowl seems like it would be spot on. Good thing TER is back in the US to give us options.

Serious question:
.
If Sanders or Warren actually get elected and actually get legislation passed providing free tuition for college, what will be the impact on the Sugar Bowl?
.
I suppose the devil is in the details, as it always is. But I imagine there are three "significant" components that might be "covered" by this:  Tuition, books and other items like lab fees, and lodging/food/transportation.
.
I haven't had to deal with college costs for 30 years, but from what I hear from my SB's and a quick Alexa-assisted search of the internet, the monthly costs for tuition & lodging could be anywhere from $1,500 to $5,000 a month in Southern California.  I'll guess (no science here, just my gut feeling) that the average monthly sugar amount in the SoCal market is between $750 and $2,000 a month.
.
If a 18-24-ish college SB suddenly reduces her monthly nut (pun intended) by let's say $2,000 a month, the potential need for regular and substantial sugar may completely disappear.
.
Does this mean the "sweet spot" (again, pun intended) for recruiting SB's will move from middle-class college babes to unemployed, high-school & college dropouts working in fast food, retail or strip clubs?  I think most of have shared that our "best" arrangements tend to be with SB's who use sugar to supplement the last 15-25% of their monthly cash needs, rather than those who are one car payment away or one rent payment away from being homeless. If free college makes the sweet spot group less dependent on sugar, we may be left with the group most typically associated with desperate scammers and pimped-out girls.
.
So what say you? Serious problem, or much ado about nothing?
.
I mean what are the chances Sanders or Warren will actually get elected anyway?

Wiping out the debt of some people just means they'll reacquire new debt.    Constantly bailing some people out is probably the worst thing you can do for them.   They'll never learn spending and saving discipline.

So yeah, there will always be sugar babes who have money problems.

I have actually been to a couple of socialist countries and in every "workers paradise" I have been in the citizens, and that includes the college coeds were a thousand times worse off then they are here under capitalism. So "IF" we adopt socialism as long as you manage to hang out to your money, the good news is that everyone else is going to be that much poorer and you and I will be able to get all the pussy we want for a fraction of what it costs us now.

Can you even guess how cheap it was for me to get laid in Venezuela? I'll give you a hint, our "poor" college kids in the evil, capitalist US of A spend about as much per day on Starbucks as I've paid for a multi hour date in Venezuela, and I was there BEFORE the place really went to shit under Maduro, I was there in the "good old days" of Chavez. lol

Not to mention that someone (the SDs) are still paying for all that free college.  There might not be as many SDs around to pay those desperate SBs.

Yeah, the taxpayers become the sugar daddies and still get screwed, but in a different way.

Most of the college cuties that I see are either on scholarship, Mommy and Daddy are paying the freight, or tuition, books etc are being paid through student loans. They still need spending money, and the ones I like (the ones who LIKE sex) don't mind at all having an occasional romp in the hay with a generous old man who isn't repulsive.

I have no delusions that these 20 year olds would be fucking an old guy like me if it weren't for the money, but none of the good ones seem to NOT be enjoying their time, and a few hundred bucks goes a long way for the typical college kid. It's not like their boyfriends are able to afford to buy them shit and take them to nice places. This is one of those facts of life that will NEVER change.
