I've had several POTs contact me, who were anywhere from an hour and a half to four hours away from me.
Now, I can see if my location was listed as somewhere in rural America, that they might think that my options are limited, so that I might be willing to FMTY. But, my location is listed near a major metropolitan area. What have you found to be their motivation?
Are they still expecting me to fly them here on the regular? To periodically send them airline tickets to meet me in some exotic destination? To travel to them, so that I can give them money? Or, to just send them money because I'm a sad lonely desperate old guy?
I mean, I guess they don't lose anything by tossing the bait out there. But, come on.
The come ons from long distance girls are almost always scams in my experience. When I reply I always say too bad we live so far apart. They generally answer with distance is no problem when two people really are in love, or some such bs. They will invariably ask you to send them money to meet you. Don't do it. Otoh, if you are planning a trip to a distant city it's worthwhile to chat up some SBs there. I did that recently and wound up having 2 dates with 2 very lovely young things. They were both quite happy to come to my hotel and meet a total stranger for sex. As expected, I paid more for those dates than I would a local SB in an ongoing arrangement. they have both asked me when I'm going to return and no doubt would be available. So maybe that counts as a long distance arrangement, but, nah I don't think so either. I've offered to both of them to fly them to my location at my expense. Who knows, maybe one of them will surprise me and say yes. The other scenario that has worked for me is when a SB from out of the area is visiting my town and looking for some action while she's here. When I get contacted by one of those it can work out well. I have a female friend who told me her long distance lover and she were taking turns flying to each other's city for visits. They live about 400 miles apart, an easy airline trip. So yes, long distance is possible if you can actually get it started and are willing to travel.
Chick's in smaller towns don't have as many local opportunities. And many chicks think they can be cam girls and sell pics and vids and never really meet. Then there are the gas money scams -- where if you front them some gas money they'll come to you. Finally there are the beggars who just want you to send them money because they are broke.

Obviously only the first category are viable candidates. If you can make it work they might be worthwhile.
On a side note, I would never fly anywhere less than 500 miles. You spend so many hours getting in and out of airports and are bound by the flight schedule. Also if plans change you probably lose the cost of your ticket.
Don’t turn down the 1.5 h types if they are attractive. You may find a real gem if their expectations are not as inflated as the ones in metros. Especially if it just happens to be an exurb or far flung suburb. You may be surprised
If it's not a scam it's because she's married or has a lot of drama. With that on the side it's not going to be consistent. And she's probably hustling for money. Maybe if she's really hot try to get a good lay or two. Definitely hotel only.
Agree with the others that these are likely scams or time-wasters, and if you're in a major metro area there's no need.
For myself, I filter all messages from more than 50 miles away which creates a separate folder. Very rarely there will be some mistakes or glitches.
