Is your situation common? There are no reliable statistics on this. Sometimes I'm just on fire sexually and performing oral on a woman increases that feeling tenfold.  Under such a circumstance if my heightened sense of arousal is then amplified by her reciprocating with me in a 69 position then oft times the end cums quickly.

I love giving oral and love getting it but not both at the same time and for several reasons.

It's much easier to please your partner when you can concentrate on the task at hand.  In turn, it's much more enjoyable to receive oral when I am free to enjoy it without trying to please my partner.  During the course of alternating mutual oral my ATF and I will occasionally wind up in 69 but it doesn't last long.  We both enjoy the experience much better when we alternate.  

Add to this the fact that I am really only good for one pop, OK, one HUGE pop, while she is multi orgasmic. Her much needed "recovery time" between O's is the perfect opportunity for her to go down on me.  When she is ready to go again I give her a break as I bring her to another O.  This can go one for almost an entire two hour session on some visits and it makes for quite an incredible experience!
