Being a newbie to the bowl, I was suggested to read the many posts here(thanks to Herbtcat).  

As I did, some posts mentioned due to potential scams or blackmailing, it is a good idea to not disclose your true identity to SB, and not to talk about your real life, your real name, what you do, family members and etc.  

I know many of you do not have such a concern and live with an open relationship, so you can be more honest to SB. However, for those who like to be more discrete, how can you possibly hide your identity when you drive your car to the meeting? SB can always look you up by your license plate, right?

I see people posting vehicles for sale on Craigslist who cover up their license plate for the same reason, to preserve privacy. But is that really a thing or just an urban myth?  I thought MVD records were quite secure unless you're LE and have some legit reasn to have access. Somebody who actually knows about this, please jump in.

You can't get that info here in Minnesota.  Only LE can look up ownership based on the car license plate.  

Depending on where you are going to meet, it could be very similar to going to meet an escort (if you worry about such things).  Do not park in the closest garage (her hotel) or parking lot; park in a hotel garage or lot a block or two away.

1. Drive part way to the destination, park safely, and uber or taxi the final mile or so.  If really paranoid, select an address a few lots away: Tell the driver or app that you are going to 666 6th Street and walk the final 2 minutes to 699 6th Street.

2. Drive part way, park safely, and take public transit (works great in NYC and Boston and some other cities with good bus-subway systems) to the final destination.

3. Drive part way, park safely, take your Segway or electric scooter out the trunk, and e-travel the final leg of the trip.

Back in the days of Perry Mason in CA (1950s), Perry or Private Eye Paul Drake would look through the car window and read the owner's name and address on the registration prominently displayed on the center of the steering wheel. If they couldn't find out that way, Paul Drake would "call a friend" at the DMV to get the private info about the license plate registrant / owner.

I'm am older guy, so just like immposter used the example of Perry Mason and Paul Drake, I remember the t.v. show Rockford Files.

Legally done or not, you never know when someone has a friend or relative in the police dept or DMV.  Hell, what if a woman is a confidential informant for a police detective and she needs leverage on a case of hers one day?  

Also, with tech the way it is these days, how do we know what's available on the internet or dark web? I don't even like going to hotels and motels that require a govt-issued ID. We have no choice but to provide it if we want to stay there, but finding places that DONT ask for it is harder and harder these days. Desk clerks can be just as harmful to you knowing your true identity as an escort or sugarbaby can. I discovered I left an important item in a motel once, but I was already back at home and hours had passed by. I took a chance and called the pls e on.my burner phone, as soon as I told the clerk the room I had been in, he said oh your name is ____________ ____________, right? He knew and remembered my full name. Scary!

Wrong…multiple employees of every every auto, motorcycle, marine, RV, power sports, and truck dealership in MN also has access to certain DMV records, including license plate ownership info.
