Aside from the cash "allowances" we give our SBs I think we all have also spent money on lots of little stuff. For me that would included numerous dinners and lunch dates and coffee dates and trinkets like silver earrings, and cute t shirts and many bottles of wine. Most of us have also bought some big ticket items, occasionally worth the investment, but not always. My list would include an older Cadillac DeVille, a new Macbook Air, all expenses to a 4 day conference 400 miles away and a Kia Sephia. But sometimes there have been some weird requests, or at least some very unusual ones. One SB I dated lived in a log cabin in the mountains and ran out of firewood in the winter so I bought her some. And one had literally zero food in her cupboard so I treated her to a shopping spree at the grocery store. What are the strangest gifts you've given?
Well a brand new POT SB I had been talking to a couple of years ago in August said she had run out of money while setting up her pad by a local college and could not afford a bed... She had the frame but not the mattress - I asked her to send me a link and I went to Ikea and bought her a bunch of shit and showed up with it at her apartment. I hadn't met her in person yet so it was sketchy humping all that shit to her apartment door. She was a college freshman 9/10 on the TER looks scale - inexperienced but game for anything... I honestly can't remember a fall where I had more fun - but damn it was weird walking up to her door the first time with a mattress over my shoulder...
A couple of trips to VS. A bottle of a really fine Tequilla. Bottles of a somewhat-hard-to-find wine that she liked. A leather backpack. A luggage set. A black bodysuit. A gift card to REI. A gift card to a local sex shop. Perhaps the most unusual: A subscription to the Harvard Business Review.
None of this really added up to all that much, but it was stuff they wanted, and that always seemed to make them happy.
