I've been messaging, and then texting, with a SB who'll be (she says) in my town in about a week. After about a dozen pleasant, but content free, texts, I got the classic "My car is in the shop. Could you....".

So, I politely replied "No", explaining that I've been scammed on SA before (I haven't) and that my heart is therefore broken (it isn't).

I guess I don't even mind the attempt, but I'd like to hear something more original.

Better than some new story you have to actually figure out.

to ask for the name of the shop so you could (supposedly) contact them your credit card info?
