A few things here to verify.  First off, does she actually work the days you are asking her to go with you?  If the answer is no, then no covering lost wages.

Does she have to buy things to go on the trip.  Extra outfits, get a passport, etc.  I usually pay for those if it's out of the ordinary.  If we are doing one fancy dinner and she wants a new dress we can talk about it.  Lingerie and sex toys, hell yes.

You are already paying for everything.  Travel, hotel, food, entertainment, etc.  I had a SB that wanted double her normal allowance per day we were together for a trip.  I said no.  She wasn't working so it's not like she was losing income.  I had another that just asked that I buy her some nice gifts while we were out.  Perfect.

Make sure she understands you want her to go with you.  You do not need her to go with you.  She does not have GPS.  

Current main SB and I are making travel plans where she does not miss any work or school.  All she asks is her typical allowance plus some gifts and to pay for anything she needs to buy to take with us.  Perfect for us.  She already knows we will eat well, stay in great hotels and have a lot of fun.  Why ruin it being greedy?

This may have been discussed before, but I’ve searched for a thread and came up empty.

If your arrangement is an allowance, not PPM, and you take your SB on a trip, would there be an expectation of additional PPM for the trip?  I would cover all expenses, of course, including lost wages during that time and dog sitting fees.  Just wondering how SDs and SBs alike think about this.

I haven’t proposed anything yet and wanted to come into the discussion with some perspectives from people that have done this successfully.  I should mention that this particular trip is one that she has mentioned she is eager to take. It wasn’t mentioned to me directly, but I overheard it so I’m aware of it.

At the end of the day, I want something that is satisfying for both of us.

Each situation is different but she should end up with some multiple of PPM  even if it's not the exact number of days. If you're covering lost wages that's already significant. However you slice it, you should make it as a package that you would like to offer x amount that compensates for lost income as well as some extra sugar. I've done  2-2.5x PPM for trips of 3-4 days but have done done anything extravagant.

Not sure that “multiple of ppm” applies here when, as posted, it seems like this arrangement is on a monthly allowance and not ppm. If it is a monthly allowance, ppm does not apply and “extra compensation” should be based upon her out of pocket expenses, lost wages, and a guarantee that all costs are covered. Ultimately, if she is on an allowance, trips are optional (she, of course is free to decline) but I would be put off if she asked for extra allowance on top of all of the things I mentioned above just to go
