Condoms -Necessary Evil

For the past thirty or so years, while my wife was able to perform with me, I never used a condom.
Now that I must see the lovely ladies of TER, the cover becomes necessary.
My questions are:
What kind or brand of condom provides the least loss of sensitivity?
Do lubricated condoms help?
Do providers object if you bring your own?
Any and all advice welcome.

a most favored lady put me on to LifeStyles UltraSensitive which i find to be satisfactory. i have also experimented with female condoms and found them even better for me not so good for her. alternating seems a rational compromise.

the problem with bringing your own is an issue of trust. i have heard stories from providers about "love" besotted guys trying to play tricks to impregnate them by sabotaging condoms among other things. so there is a security and trust issue here.

GoodTimingMan has some exotic condom brand preferences as i recall and you can perhaps find them by searching in this board.

my heart sinks whenever i meet a new lady and she brings out Durex. they seem so constrictive i positively loathe them. so i bring a fresh new box of practically anything else just in case.

allow their use. This way they can check the dates and are reasonably assured of no tampering and hopefully proper storage.

However, some ladies are allergic to the lube used by certain companies, or to latex in general. Some simply detest a particular brand for the taste it imparts to your crank.

Because I am somewhat thick this is an issue. I bring Trojan magnum thins with me but a very few ladies dont prefer to use them. I also like the new Kimono large size Japanese condom, which is just a bit smaller than a magnum. However these do not come in a box so there is that trust issue again. I have not found a sufficiently large unlubricated condom and I have not yet tried large non-latex condoms. I hope to have a traveling kit of all possibly needed types so that I do not have YMMV issues when being forced to use a condom supplied by a lady, which may give me a case of condom pinch and makes it hard to, well, stay hard.....

Trojan actually makes an XL condom, so does Durex.  And the Kimonos are probably the thinnest.  It's funny how the selection of large size condoms is so paltry and the Trojan Magnums feel like a plastic baggie or something.  Inordinately thick and clumsy.

I generally use Trojan Ultra thins, and most men say they feel just fine. Regarding brand preferences, everyone will have their advice on which brands provide the best sensation.

Regarding whether a lady will object if you bring your own, most won't. As someone else stated, some providers might be reluctant to use condoms brought by the hobbyist because of concerns about how old the condoms are, and how they have been stored. Condoms that have no been properly stored are more likely to break.

For my part, I generally won't try other brands because I have discovered that if I use different brands frequently, it can become very irritating. There is something in Durex condoms in particular that I react to. So, I tend to prefer to use my own brand because I know it won't cause me any irritation. If I were seeing a gentleman though, who says that one particular brand is the only one that works for him, I might consider giving it a try, and if it doesn't cause me any problems, I wouldn't have any problems using them again.

Also, as someone else said, female condoms might work best. Some men say it is the closest you can get to BB. I've used them, and the results have been mostly positive, although female condoms do have some drawbacks. There was a thread about female condoms on this board just a month or so ago though. If you want to see more detailed discussion about female condoms, do a search of "female condoms" over the last few months.

Good luck and happy hobbying :)

Dear FireinHearth,

1. It depends on the individual. Some people prefer polyurethane condoms, others like the lambskin. Please be aware that the lambskin does NOT protect fully against HIV, as it has micropores that can be penetrated by the virus.

2. Help against what? Lubrication in general helps to reduce friction, which means that the condom has less chance of ripping/breaking. This does not mean that a lubricated condom is equal to any type of condom without added lubrication such as Astroglide or KY Jelly - the best protection is using a condom, lubricated or not, WITH lots of additional lubrication from a bottle.

3. Now that depends on the provider - they are normal women with normal preferences, likes and dislikes. Studies have shown that condoms that are pre-lubricated with nonoxynol-9 do NOT provide extra protection against HIV and may in fact be irritating to sensitive tissues, even causing inflammation.

If the provider wants to use her own kinds of condoms, please understand that this is her prerogative. At the same time, professional providers aren't dense; if someone is plus-sized, chances are that they'll pull out a Magnum in the appropriate size, even if the guy has brought a regular size condom. Same if the client is minuscule and laboring under the delusion that he is gigantic - it is up to the provider to protect herself according to the best means possible, by suggesting a condom that will fit better than, say a Magnum. On the other hand, it is always a nice gesture to bring your own, particularly if the condom is "provider-approved." Nothing is cheap these days and some providers may appreciate the gesture.

Ok, hobby on,

I have brought my own ever since a Fav lady requested I stop & pick some up enroute.  I was already on the highway & it was most inconvenient & caused me to be late.  There is also certain scams in which the lady only has 1 (one pop) or needs to go get some (& disappears).  Now, I bring them as a matter of course.  Cheaper than one spoiled date!

I have not brought them "in a box" but make sure they are in the dated & undamaged foil.  I always bring more than needed in case one needs to be replaced.  I just silently put them on the night table.  I've never been refused to use mine though it's her right to do so.  While I am in the bathroom, she has a chance to check them if she wants.

The most response I've had is a Fav lady say "I have plenty."

What kind? This is a personal decision except not the lambskin ones for safety reasons.  I prefer the ultra thins so is reason enough to bring them.

I bring my own.  The Trojan ultra-thins are very good.  I also like the Trojan ribbed condoms.  I bring extra, and leave any unused (unopened) condoms with her if she wants them.

Most the time it is ok.  I let her check them out of necessary; however, I know what type of condoms fit me best.  I have the same storage concerns using condoms from providers that I do not know well.  There is a flip side to this issue.

"There is also certain scams in which the lady only has 1 (one pop)...."

Both the two ladies that I have seen "only brought one".  Pretty sad deal for a three hour date....huh.
