As far as I can tell it's been a few years since Miss Travel has been discussed in detail here. Of course it exhibits all the hallmarks of a scammers' haven but I remain curious, has anyone at all found any success with this site? How is it still breathing? Haven't done a profile, nor am I likely to, but I can't even tell how much it costs.

... but I just went to take a new look. I never met anyone through this service, but I did receive messages when I had a paid membership and had created a trip plan.  

 
My strategy at the time was to look for someone either local to me BEFORE I travel or to meet someone at the destination I was travelling to. That would let me properly vet her, including a face-to-face meet before I committed to spending anything on her.  I was most concerned that it would be too dicey to try to negotiate ALL aspects of a travel arrangement through the site message system, email, or text. Obviously, there was no way I'd buy air fare and incur other non-refundable expenses for someone without ever meting them 1st.  

 
Ultimately, I dropped using the site when I found it much easier and safer to meet a local SB who was down for travel at some time. And ultimately, I took a local SB with me on my one-month trip to Australia.  

 
If you're thinking of  trying to meet a travel companion through the site, I suggest you go slow - really slow -  before expending any cash on her. Plus, as the risk of getting ghosted (or not getting laid) is high, if you actually do find a travel arrangement, have multiple back-ups ready.  One strategy might be to find multiple companions, one for each part of your trip if it's long enough.  Then if one bails, you still have others. And on the flip side of that, if the 1st works out really well, you can cancel the next ones.

Thank you, as always, for your wise counsel. I wasn't seriously looking at this as I am very circumspect even under most known conditions but was curious if the landscape had changed. I have had excellent success in arranging "conjugal visits" through SA on my trips. It might be cool to take a longer trip sometime with an SB but, wow, one month on another continent? You are a brave man.

All my buddies were telling me before I left what a fucking idiot I was to be taking her on a trip that long.  

 
Well I showed them, unfortunately I showed them just how right they were and just how fucking dumb I was for thinking I could spend TEN fucking days with her without wanting to strangle her before the trip was over. lol

 
I am happy that Herb's trip turned out better than mine, but you are right, Herb is a very brave man, and very lucky as well. Things could have gone so horribly wrong on a trip that long, but fortunately for him they did not.

 
I will confess, I can't imagine spending more than a couple of days together with ANY woman without having some serious "me time" I know that if I ever get the urge to get married again all I have to do is book a seven day cruise with the woman and I'll be cured of any marriage delusions by the third day, maybe the second. lol

In both of the times I took an SB on a month-long out of country trip (yes, I've actually done this twice!), it was only after we had been in an arrangement for a while (at least 8+ months) and after we had tested shorter trips for 4-7 days (San Francisco, Vegas, etc.).  

 
That doesn't mean every one of the 30 days on the road were paradise. But on balance, I think I had more fun with a sure thing than I would have taking  a risk on trying to find/meet/vet local SB's (or pros) in the cities I was visiting. To be honest, I kind of got the best of both worlds on each trip. I deliberately scheduled two days in each trip for "alone" time for each of us.  This was presented as a "pressure relief valve" to each SB where they could take a day for themselves and ensure they had some necessary time to not be together and not feel pressured to be "on stage" for the full month.  What I didn't tell them, of course, was that both of these days were also my time to explore local talent.  So I had sessions in Buenos Aires and Santiago when I took my Vietnamese spinner to Argentina and Chile. And I had excellent sessions in Sydney and Melbourne when I did my 30-day wine tour of Australia and New Zealand with my AA slim-thick babe.  

 
BUT - this is NOT for everyone. There are many, many risks.  And those risks multiply a hundredfold when you travel to a new city to meet someone for the 1st time, especially for a multi-day (or multi-week!) arrangement.  I've done it more than once on short business trips of 2-4 days. But those involved setting up 2 primary and 2 back up sessions for a single hit it and quit it BCD with each.  My success rate of going BCD at least once on these trips was around 65%. So I eventually stopped trying and made sure I had an SB from my local rotation lined up when I got home.  

 
After a long business trip, it was always nice to come home and unpack - then about 2 hours later, unload. :p
