I ended a sugar relationship today.  Extremely attractive 20-something AA that does everything and does it very well but is a little -- how do you say -- bat shit crazy.   Very sad to have to end it -- it could have been the one for all-time, based on the sex -- but it was not to be.   Feeling melancholy.  

All arrangements end, eventually. That's the nature of the sugar bowl.  

 
I'd suggest your post could be about what you had - some amazing sex with a hot woman - rather than what you lost.

You're right, I should focus on what we had -- be glad that it happened, not sad that it ended. But it is always a little bittersweet.  On the next one.

It was your decision, and even though you felt some melancholy, ending it on your own terms is WAY better than getting ghosted by someone your truly love.  Speaking from very sad recent experience!  Time for us both to move on and take Herb's excellent advice to heart!

What could have been, still can be...Concur with comments above with one additional thought for you. Take everything you had and subtract the BSC. Would you have stayed with her. Assuming the answer is yes, you now have a target profile of what to look for next. By the very nature of the relationships, they tend to not last extremely long (with a few notable exceptions that a number have posted about on this very board). No need to settle when you can get exactly what you want. Enjoy the fond memories and move briskly to the recruiting trail to find your next SD. Good luck in the search.
