Found this on YouTube.  It's worth the 33 minutes of your time to watch it.

You will immediately see the parallels.

Vlog title: "Catfishing Tinder Scammers With Their Real Names"

Grab your favorite popcorn and enjoy.

I also was joking with a producer friend of mine a while ago about this.  We have shot ideas back and forth.

Divorced guy. Broken hearted.  Wife left him for someone else.

College student who likes to have fun.  But has a serious focus on a career and her education.

They meet. Start dating.  Nothing serious at first.  But end up falling for one another.  Even though family has issues with the age difference.

Since it's a Hallmark movie you know the wedding in the end will be over the top.

Since it was a fictionalized version of this lifestyle, the producers decided to up the drama by casting the SD as an uber-rich megalomaniac who preys on pretty, young, vulnerable women. And they cast the SB as a sweet, innocent gal who is forced into an arrangement due to badly needed cash for her dying father's medical bills.

Well, the SD ends up accidentally killing her by choking her in an out-of-control aggressive sex scene. He has his personal assistant cover the crime and plant fake evidence that ruins her reputation. The whole town goes on a man-hunt and our villain SD ends up arrested.

I believe this only aired on Hallmark, well before sugaring went viral on social media, so it ended up as faded memory of a B movie - fortunately.

That was actually on Hallmark?  Sounds more like Cinemax

Doesn't say it was released on Hallmark, so I may be wrong about that. But here's some info.

Sounds like a Hays Code movie -- evil doers couldn't succeed in the end.
