I'm always trying to guess the age and musical tastes of clients so I can play the best/sexiest "mood music" playlist for our time together.

Do you have favorite artists or genres that put you in the mood?? I'd love to get some new ideas.

I love Brazilian jazz, or any slow sensual music, preferable in a language I don't speak if there are vocals. (Too distracting.)

Now your turn...

Not much into mood music but it would be cool to get busy to FFC Kahuna - Hayling

Nah, just kidding! Though, I do appreciate all sorts of music. Depends on whom I'm with I guess... ;)

I LOVE smooth jazz....Norman Brown, Dave Koz, Boney James.

"smooth" Jazz as long as it's not too smooth as to be generic elevator music, Jeff Healey band, *real* blues, classic 70s rock in general, mid 50s to late 60s "oldies" (what the hell does that make *me*! I grew up with that stuff lol)

Throw in some New Age as long as it does not sound like dance choreography music, a little R&B, perhaps some Mo-Town.....

Even classical / neo.

Just for friggin out loud - no *disco* :-D

Frankie's the shit. HUGE fan. As well as Miles, 'Trane, and Dizzy. Arturo Sandoval, and many other 'newer' Jazz artists.

Classic rock, oldies, Blues, oh yeah.

Some newer shit, not much.

Marvin Gaye, and the rest of the Motown clan, fuck yeah, as well as 70's and 80's R&B.

Guess we're dating ourselves there, GTM?! ;)

TV, radio, etc.   That probably puts me in the minority but I find any of that distracting.  Can't explain why....just does.

I do like music - especially while exercising and I'm a rocker so I've got a lot of Cindarella (I am a Philly boy), Dio, Bon Jovi, Slaughter, Queen, Yes, Krokus, Giant, ....I think that gives you an idea.

But I like the sounds of sex during sex.

Specifically Exile on Main Street or Some Girls.

Whatever turns my date on. The sounds of sex is the best mood music. No music puts me in the mood so to speek, but most music doesn't detract from it ether.

All great mood music to play to. If you are looking for a something Brazil/Portugal sung in Portuguese, then I would suggest checking out Madredeus.Specifically, O Paraiso. It's one of my faves.

One of my favorites:
I Fall in Love Too Easily - Shirley Horn

Also check out:
Abandoned Masquerade - Diana Krall

April Barrows ~ Someone Else's Arms

Charene Dawn - Petals

Also:
All My Life - Dominique Eade
Bird Of Paradise - Carol Welsman
Lost In A Blue Note - April Barrows
Kiss - Charene Dawn
Dedicated to the One I Love - Holly Cole

And of course:
Shirley Horn Love For Sale

Thanks! This is great. I will have some fun putting a playlist together out of these ideas. (Diana Krall is one of my fav's, some of her recordings are audiofile quality...not that you can tell when they are on my iPod. :^)~

I dont mind music played very softly, as long as the sounds of sex are fully audible.  Hearing my partner is such a turn on!

None the less, here is a link to a recent thread on what some others like to listen too.

I like smooth jazz very relaxing and soothing. Some of the old Isley Brothers songs(especially "Between the Sheets")
jaydalee

Soft and gentle with a female voice. Katie Melua's 'Piece By Piece' CD goes the trick for me.

The Sex Pistols 'Never Mind The Bollocks' is tempting though.

some r&b and there are different types of it I like, lol light sexy rap (it exists) like get me home by foxy brown well now that I think about it those light sexy rape songs are mixed w/ r&b too and some alternative rock.

but seriously, I guess new age or something very zen like you'd hear in a high class spa is condusive to the sex I like.

Classical music is good too.

The other stuff I have to check out...! ;)

Some great suggestions to check out. I enjoy lounge music and world music - Hotel Cotes, Buddha Bar, Bliss - all nice and relaxing.

just about any jazz but like it slow and sultry like Baker, Coltrane, Bird, etc...Here's one of my favs...the sultry, provocative, throaty sound of a sax...

Music really depends on my mood..

Somedays I want to have sweet slow, sensual fun
Other days.. I want to F***
( Yes that is a catagory on my Ipod)
who is in control me or you?
Are we napping and snuggling?
Norah jones or Nickelback?

I do love it when my friends bring their music.
I get a sense of what mood they are in. I get to listen to new tunes and I get to know something about them....

yes that catagory is on my ipod...

but not everyone shares my tastes in music. I love Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern instrumentals. I find most vocals too distracting. The right pieces played on the primitive instruments can be very erotic. For the ladies who don't care for that kind of music, I also have some soft jazz, and some blues. One good CD is a collection of blues artists from the 20's & 30's called The Copulatin' Blues.

But not everyone is this organized. So I like to have music on hand.

Do you have any recomendations for Indian or Middle Eastern "love music"?

Thanks for your time.

Sade  "Love Deluxe"  any thing by Sade

V.M. Bhatt has put together some very nice multi-cultural CD's that can be found at the link below.

This site has a little wider variety.

in this post so far is Paula Cole.  She had a really shitty hit with "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone" several years ago and most people know her from that.

However, that woman can sing a love ballad very sensually.  She pairs with Chris Botti from time to time.  Her voice with his steamy trumpet are fantastic.
