So we all know the standard "disclaimer."

This is not an ad for prostitution, absolutely nothing illegal going on here. Please don't even talk about anything remotely illegal because I'm a lady and would never even consider such activities!

Then . . .

By responding to this ad you agree you are not LE and will not use this ad for crime fighting and do-gooding.

Aside from the uselessness of such nonsense, it got me thinking, if absolutely nothing remotely illegal was going on, why would you care if the respondent was LE?

To me, those disclaimers let me know which girls really don't have a clue.

Someone does it first and few think it is a good idea and copy.

Gives you laugh.

a disclaimer for an illegal activity does not make it legal..

I guess they figure that it can't hurt to put it? Is it also an attempt to give a 'false sense of security' to their hobbyist visitors?

Dear Tessen,

when I go to a colleague's/friend's site, my eyes glaze over the disclaimer and I just click/head on over to the goodies.

Mine is short:  "I am a mature adult with taste, and I am over 21 years of age"

Cheers, I loved your reply to my 'personal disclosure" post awhile back (although those circumstances sounded really dire.  Your girl really trusts you, Tessen!)
