In this business, you want to do a few things well with your advertising. Get our attention. Have great pics. Give us a direct link to your reviews here at TER. Make your rates easily understandable. Make it easy for us to contact you. So many great providers haven't figured out these basic steps and it costs them business. So, again, I don't think it matter in which vehicle you use so much to carry your message as long as your message has the items I list above.
I find videos interesting, but I have never book an appointment with a gal with a video. Nothing wrong with either, the gals just weren't my cup of tea.
My personal preferences:
I don't care for nudity on websites, I think that lingerie or swimsuits can be alot sexier than leaving nothing to the imagination.
I like a site that is easy to navigate. Some gals make a "game" of finding out about her.
Limit your photos to 6 to 10 shoots and rotate them every so often. Some gals have catalogs on their websites and sometime seeing to many photos is counter productive.
My personal dislikes:
Music on websites. It is fine if I have the option to turn it on, but if I am attempting to browse for a date and my SO is in earshot, it has a bad outcome.
Your website or your email should never direct some one to another site. I was getting emails (marketing not personal) from a gal and when I hit the "opt out" button it attempted to take me to her website. I was in a coffee shop at the time.

... I enjoy the ads on the MN board and Natalie, you have had some very creative ads. Those ads always draw my attention. That and the website and I agree that tasteful but EROTIC pixs are attractive to me. Of course it helps if the girl is gorgeous, yep we can check that box too! You make regular changes to your website to keep it fresh, that's good. And as others have said NO Music. Don't watch video ads so can't comment.

In that sense, I think video is the best because you can't alter it as easily, but in the end, I just only care that what you represent as yourself via advertising is truthful and accurate.
Hmmm, that is interesting. I have NEVER placed an ad and included photos...ever, except for Eros which I consider more of a profile vs. an ad. When I place ads on sites like TER, I've never included any catch phrases, banners, photos, etc. and I have NEVER ONCE participated in the "photo threads." I also don't do chat rooms, so maybe I am an odd ball, but I just don't see the need. My reviews are attached, my website is easily found, and it's a done deal. If it helps get MORE clients, I guess I would never know lol.
I have said this on numerous occasions and have mentored several young new girls about websites/ads. I tell them they can never have enough pics and to show themselves in different lights that is GND pics, glamor, slutty, naked, bikini, etc. You never know what pic will do it for what guy. L, may not matter for you may get as much biz as you want, I don't know. Most ladies don't however and pics are huge!
So, all it takes is a hot photo? Really? What kind of girls are we talking about here, because I've never seen the super elite post even tit shots in ads, much less a website. They are usually fully clothed, and they make 3 times as much as I do. I am not saying good photos don't matter, but I will disagree they are most important. Any dumb ass can take a pretty photo, and get 2s in performance. You see this on BP all the time. I think it has to go beyond that, or some women would never get ANY business, because they don't even post photos that are revealing.
I will agree that a photo is the FIRST thing to catch your eye, but if you discover she is pimped, underage, or a complete retard, only a handful of guys are going to see her. Some men want more than that out of their companions. If you INSIST on certain services and she does not provide them, the photos are not going to help. Same with rates...if you can't afford a gal, her hot photos are not going to make your bank account suddenly have funds lol.

And you are it baby! Your personality sells. You are smart and outspoken, and many of us love that. Whether people agree with you or not, you are visible. You get noticed. I bet there is not a guy on these boards that hasn't read your reviews and been to your website, multiple times! Guilty!! Intentional or not, that is great marketing, but somehow I believe that you know that. There are many ladies however, that choose to rely on other methods, and a sexy photo will get a guy's attention. It is as simple as that.

Only that it can energize my interest to look further. If the reviews are lack luster, or the price out of reach, or some other turn off, then it doesn't matter. But the fact is, I probably wouldn't be look further if not for the photo.
On the other hand, as ET points out, there are gals whom I see based on their board participation. There are other gals I see based on recommendations from people I know and whose opinions I value.
But the photos are the single most effective marketing tool a gal can use, and that's why I always counsel gals to not cheap out on them, but find a real good photog and pay the price it takes. I guarantee you'll earn the money back in months if not weeks.
By the way LR, you do have nice photos. You ought to get them out on the boards or ads now and then.
There are two things that cause use to take notice of an add or profile page (I see Eros as an extended ad)
1) Well-written or creative text.......if it looks like the girl just tweeted in the text while making a lane change on the interstate, it's just a turn-off. Also, the text should be enticing and playful. I've seen far too many girls who use the text as a way to lay down the law and go on and on about personal rules of how to approach them. Rules are fine, just set them off to a side or at the end and leave them be, don't make them the focus of the ad. I'd link to what I think is the single best ad I've seen in regards to this, but not sure what the etiquette is.
2) A variety of photos...it can be just 4 pictures, but if all 4 pictures are taken from the same shoot, then they tell me little. Ideal I suppose would be about 6 shots, 3 or 4 of them from professional shoots (if that's the level you'd like to convey) 2 of them more amateur shots, and at least 1 candid in casual clothes. That picture your father took of you when you went hiking last fall? Great, post it. This, more than anything will cause an ad to stand out from others. Of course, it's very rare.
Oh, and the cell phone pic taken in the mirror of your bathroom? Just stop that right now, please. If you can't be bothered to set up at least a timer shot for what is a professional ad, it says a lot. Heck, bathroom lighting by design is intensely unflattering. Oh, and nothing screams 'sexy' like having a toilet in the corner of a picture.
For the record, I like cell phone bathroom mirror shots.......LOL
I go by the reviews and throw out the jerks that are disrespectful.
and adjectives every other word and using improper words. Readable Font and Color, not grainy photos, no postage stamp photos, actual representation and not photo shopped to hell and back.
No music and no video, members only is crap because no one consistently manages it properly. It is there because templates have them, serves no practical purpose in majority of cases. By all means, don’t have tab for rates without rate information and note saying “contact for rate information”.

What is your favorite type of ad when it comes to escorting? The online ad? The profile? The video ad? A banner on a site? Photos stand alone? Discussion board posts speak for themselves? Separate super sexy ads for "members only" or old friends?
Just curious... I love expanding my ad media and am playing with video ads, but am curious to see what YOU guys really like to see!
I personally have to laugh at all the post ads. Why do women toss their website link in every damn post? If a guy is interested, it takes him no longer to click on your name that lead to your reviews, than it does to click on your website link. Or, women who post "What hotels should I stay at" in such and such city...as if, that's a valid question or even smart to answer in public lol.
Look at your competition's ads, then look at yours, then pretend your are a guy who wants to best spend his hard earned money. Who's ad is more of a temptation? If your competitor has 50 pics, tons of info, well written, and a stylish format, but yours has 2 pics, sparse info, ect, then you've got to make some changes.
Bottom line is you have to outdo the competition, just like the rest of us who are in business.
A large selection of different types of pictures would be priority one though.
