Your point of.........

Your point of the fact that none of us our perfect can not be any more true.

Regardless, of where we are and who we are dealing with we tend to find the same thing that we find here. No one is perfect!

Your rule of thumb is perfect. Play nice. What we learned from the time that we were children was that if you don't have something nice to say then say nothing at all. Sometimes people need to vent and that's ok......It generally means that someone hurt them. But, we do need to be careful in life with defining if we were hurt by them or if they intentionally hurt us. We all have baggage in life so that line can become very grey from time to time. I just try to stick to the golden rule. I'm not at all perfect but that one seems to take me a long way and it helps be look in the mirror everyday and still see who I am.

I think it may be time for us all to “check in” and assess to what extent that our moral paradoxes and hypocrisies are running amuck. More and more of late; mob rule, PC INtolerance and general hypocrisy is stifling free thought and open point of view on these boards. In a forum occupied by Satyrs, Nymphs, exploiters, mercenaries, whores & whoremongers I find it repugnant that many are putting on an air of moral superiority over each other.

A couple of examples of recent intolerance to freedom of......

for membership on this board. I have not seen the Thought Police, but the Thought Senate is alive and well. Despite your protestations (and examples), the predictable air of moral superiority is highest amongst sinners. History is replete with examples of  people who overthrow something only to establish something more vile and corrupt than the thing it replaced. Sinners are often the loudess and most vocal in any revolution, because they typically have the most to lose. Were I a betting man, would I believe that you were the pot calling the kettle black? Does this make me a mercenary, perhaps, but people who know me best think I am an iconoclast.

In my first sentence I denoted that "WE ALL" need to "check in".

Now I did think however, that you did not include yourself in the superior moralists you defined in the initial post or at least that is the way I read it. Censorship of any kind leads to bad results IMHO. Choice is a funny coin. In this life, doing a thing or not doing a thing are BOTH choices (two sides of the coin) and it's not for you or me save for an opinion to decide who's right. So if it's your opinion that people sneer at others with their morally supreme ideas, then so be it, but your choice of words seemed to blanket the entire lot with this classification. Like it or not, morality and its opposite are two sides of that same coin ; impossible to split in half or to give favor to either side. Part of life's universal delimmas, you see.

Let's just say then that some folks who like to stand in judgment don't much like it when they're spotlighted for it. Right or wrong, perfect or imperfect all I did was switch on the light.

Society doesn't agree, but that's what I say.   And no, I don't think that hobbying implies that I must get all comfortable with racism and sexism too.

So, tell me, how does it "stifle" free expression to express repugnance for any of those?  You don't mean any of these people were really censored, do you?

Don't you mean that they just had to defend/support their statements?  Oh!  What terrible oppression that is, to actually feel that you must think about what you've written.

It seems to me you're the one whining that other people have expressed their opinions and that make you uncomfortable with yours.  Perhaps there a reason why it makes you uncomfortable, then?

If people are censored, that's one thing, but that isn't your gripe at all.  You think all opinions on a discussion group should have the right to be welcomed and vegetate in equal sunny comfort so as not to make anyone feel bad-- (Isn't this something like PC?)  You call a more contentious environment "stifled."

I say: find a greenhouse!

Others here have a rather boorish habit of garrulously dissecting every post down to the last quotation mark in some self aggrandizing effort to belittle anyone with a contrary but otherwise poignant and valid point of view. There is some longwinded lout on a popular adult review site out of Texas who has set himself up as the board's tautological marshal at arms by practicing this M.O. of loquaciously dissecting other posts ad-nauseam. This tactic of endless dissecting and raising two dozen redundant opposing points all over a 37 word post is at best narcissistic. I sincerely hope this arrogant putz does not find his way to the TER board.

One of the hallmarks of the human existence is having views that one will fight for. That passage is true on this site as it is in any other facet of life.

There are some beliefs however that one shouldn't have to necessarily defend. Also if someone doesn't have the time to answer to someones 37 point rebuttal for their 3 sentence post it doesn't necessarily make them shallow or without merit but rather time constrained. Then of course there is the personal attack(s) impugning the poster. They don't even deserve recognition of existence.

It would be refreshing if people thought a little more about what they were writing/responding to... too much of what goes for intelligent repartee is in a big way garbage. Aside from the wondrous humor that I get a kick out of here and in other net hide-aways, I see people clamoring for someone's neck without the least bit of thought. So his observation, while a bit much, is at least partially correct in that mob rule has a tendency to take place on this board and many that you might defend, say some of most mindless, callous and indefensible nonsense known to the English language. It's great to have an opinion, but damn ugly when it's laid out there to be plain hurtful.

Holy crap! They're intolerant of ethnic jokes on this board...the bastards.

I'd quickly start printing out leaflets and consider running for office so you can stop this terrible affront to freedom and the right to be a tool in public.

Your post is saturated with the belief that seeking great erotic experiences is a bad thing.
BTW, you chose a great alias, it fits you to a "T".

People don't actually read them and start accusing the poster of all sorts of misdemeanors.

I personally find that because of this business I have a mixed set of values. I'll do this for a living but, I won't steal a seat that I didn't pay for at a ballgame or concert. People constantly question me on my value system. Just because I'm a working girl I still won't lie, cheat and still.........I guess that I just categorize things differently and I suppose that's a survival technique.

I think that we will find this to be true of everyone involved with this business.

You have a wonderful point but I personally enjoy the fact that people have mixed opinions. This board would be nothing without that. We wouldn't even be here otherwise.........Besides, who we flame.........LOL

Just one of my opinions......LOL

Outstanding thoughts in your post.  Summer, I wish I lived on the left coast or at least in the Mountain time zone so that I could get to meet you.  Us East coast guys sometimes get deprived.

I think I share your values, OC.  The way you make your living is totally compatible with values of honesty, integrity, self-sufficiency, kindness to others, etc.  You provide a very valuable service--a service which has done me and others a lot of good.  The fact that society at large does not agree with us does not make us wrong.

I raised the point of the need for more tolerance of point of view and beliefs and several have accused me of championing censorship along with wishing to stifle debate.

I didn't disagree with you at all. But, I do admit that your post kind of sounded that way from this end. And, maybe you took my post wrong as well??

I agree that more tolerance should be displayed.....but, in doing so I guess that we also have to have more tolerance of those with conflicting view points......not one of my best attributes at times....LOL

It's all good........your intentions are certainly in the right place. I'm just not sure if there is a real answer though.

I never post *anything* without thinking that somebody, and maybe everybody is going to flame me.

That might be pessimistic, but almost always I've been pleasantly thrilled when it doesn't happen.

Our free speech has its price.  One reason why controversial things are brought to the internet is that if we brought them up in our lives there would never be peace.

You think we could talk about things on this discussion board with friends, coworkers, neighbors or relatives?  Think again.  Life would be a constant fistfight punctuated with gunfire.

I'd probably be thinking of shooting (or at least pistol-whipping) a few people. Of course, I know you'd enjoy that if done properly with a feather boa. Wink!

Hugs,
Ciara

In all arenas of life, there are some who think their sh*t doesn't stink.  Some people need to chill out and get a life.

If there were more ladies like Ciara (yes, both of you), Summer, Red, Emma Bond, Anneke, BDG, etc., this board would be a better place.  Most of the guys are great (Lex, for one) but some we could do without.  My rule of thumb is if I don't have anything nice or informative to say, then I will not post.  I'm sure I have probably wavered a bit now and then, but, who is perfect?
