You pose an interesting question dear-

I have a wish list on my site- yes I do! I consider it just that a wish list ( I even say that on my site )- things I really want and either haven't gotten around to buying myself or things that I would love to have, but are merely lifes luxories.

Now I do make suggestions on my site for gift cards as well and I give a list of stores that I like.

Thanks to that everytime the question is posed for a gent looking to bring something extra- I suggest he take a look and get some ideas.

I have had two or three getns in the last week get me a little present or a gift cards and althoughI already showed my appreciation.

THANK YOU AGAIN- YOU ARE THE GREATEST!

the "Wish List" on many sites....I've often wondered about it, how it is precieved.

I personally don't like asking for gifts... so I don't get many...wink!!!

How many of you do bring gift?

kisses and hugs
Terri

I ignore wish lists.  I used to bring VC lingerie but discovered that my tastes didn't always match my companion's.  So now I bring roses or a CD.

Due to different taste aren't the CD's kind of iffy also? Unless you mean certificate of deposit, LOL.

CD's of Nora Jones seem to be soothing and erotic.  Also a classic Sinatra works nicely.  Annie Lennox "Diva" is appreciated along with Sade and Elicia Keyes.  All of the above work for me and my fav's.

I've bought my ATF a birthday gift from her wish list.  I typically do not bring gifts for a number of reasons, mostly because I'm not sure about the whole gift etiquette-thing.

I recently saw an ad from a provider that said something like, "gift cards accepted in lieu of cash."  Probably a good idea, but I found it kinda funny.

. . . unless the items are expensive, or you devote a full page to it. Just don't make it a prominent display.

skisandboots1194 reads

...most of the wish lists that I see are entire pages with nothing but expensive items on it.  This is a MAJOR turnoff for me, and will always make me think twice before considering an appointment with her.  I certainly would not be compelled to get her something off of her wishlist.  Ironically, I almost always give my providers a gift in addition to the donation.  I avoid clothing, lingerie, etc. due to not knowing the provider's exact size, tastes, etc. and stick to practical gifts that I know they will enjoy.  They've always been a hit, and when given upfront they're a nice way to break the ice.  So ladies, don't post a wish list as some of us do find them quite tacky.

I actually think "wish lists" can be helpful particularly if the list reasonable wishes a nice chardonnay, favorite tea or coffee, etc.  But a BMW Z4 and a five karat diamond are a little ridiculous... unless of course some shmow is willing to buy you one... and I say this because it actually has happened.

Not big on the "wish list" here.  Even though I want (need) the "GFE", kissing, cuddling, etc. I understand (and so do you) that this is a business transaction.  IMHO I am already (well) compensating her for her time and I feel that suggesting "extras" is akin to the hobbyist trying to negotiate price the other way...
I will typically ask a lady if I can provide any particular beverage etc., and would be grateful to have such preferences gently pointed out on a web site.  I do, after all, want you to be comfortable & happy, but please don't ask me for a Bentley...

at 250 and up for an hour thats better than what santa brings anything else is ridiculos

Condo on the 18th green. Seriously though, I don't think it is out of line to mention some things like a certain wine or particular flower that you like. Something along those lines that makes the guy feel like he's doing something that is going to contribute to a GFE experience.

I view bringing gifts of any kind before services render as sort of a subtle bribe to get better service.  I prefer rewarding good services with an appropriate monetary gratuity after the service is provided.  It keeps everything in it proper perspective.  With the gratuity, she can buy the sweets, wine, flowers, CD, book, and so on she likes jewelry rather than depend on my bad taste. I suspect gifts that are not to her taste such as sweets are often re-gifted to her other clients or friends.  That said, on a rare special occasions (ex. holidays) I have brought specialty deserts and drinks that I like in which we both consume as part of a celebration.  Still the best gift is a repeat visit!!

I am always curious about what people want... I don't tip for just the sake of it and when a lady has done extraordinary service, I am happy to give... I learned long ago that lingeree and other clothing items are risky unless you know the woman well... I love to give books, music, and sometimes, I will ask whether she needs me to stop for something on my way over, which seems to delight most ladies that you cared to ask. Most women set their rates and don't expect anything else. Agency ladies seem to have their hands out more and that bothers me when the request for a tip seems more like a handout... Tips are for extraordinary service, not just because you ask.

Yes, I said bottled heavy. They always need it for their dates and it is HEAVY!

Also, like I said many times here, food!

I look at them occasionally.  If there's a lady I particularly like, I might bring her a small additional present from what she posted she likes, but for those who post that they want a computer, an automobile, or the like, I wonder what type person might respond to those suggestions.

I figure with the money we make -250 or over an hour. I really dont know many that make that much. I  look at girls wish lists and think " buy you own for christ sake ! LOL

providers for having them. No one is forcing anyone to buy a gift or trying to make a client feel badly about not getting a gift. I wish I would have left mine up. I have never (nor will I ever) expect anyone to get me presents. However, if a gentleman is curious and wants to get a holiday gift, whatever, I've been told it does make it easy for them to shop. Personally, I adore flowers but it's a bad idea. First, I have a cat and she would eat them and get sick. Candy is wonderful, but you never know if someone is a diabetic or trying to lose weight. :)  Anyway, no matter how you look at it, you really don't know someone's taste unless you've already met that person. I've always appreciated gift certificates as Christmas gifts from friends and relatives because then you can shop for yourself. I truly appreciate any gift given to me (because I've never been spoiled in my entire life), but let's also be practical. Some ladies are allergic to perfume and are picky about scents (I know I am), and unless you know the exact panty and bra size of a woman, shopping for lingerie can be a bad idea (although thoughtful).

Okay, I don't know if what I've said it helpful or not, but it's just my two cents. Wink!

She said, guys were always asking her what she liked or could they bring her something she liked. So she put up a list of items ranging from $10 to $200. This at least minimized the awkward question of "can I bring you anything"

I thought about it and realized it was a practical answer to a common question.

Now I do agree with one other poster though "A Mercedes Benz....... WTF?" what are you smokin?

Thankfully my ATF is a practical lady. One of the reasons she is my ATF. :)

Listing some extravagant things such as a Mercedes is silly, but hey who am I to judge? ;)

When I had a "Wish List" it merely mentioned my favorite perfume, some red wines, Starbuck's, and -- I believe -- a couple of clothing stores.

Hugs,
Ciara

...to gullible1.  You were given a line.  I don't doubt that providers get occasionally asked "what can I bring you?/ What do you like?"-type questions.  But to suggest they they're bombarded with them to the point that they're tired of answering is a nice, convenient excuse to post the list.  As most of the responses so far have indicated, most guys ignore or don't mind the lists that are kept reasonable.  I must be the only one who finds all the lists tacky.  So why not "use that convenient excuse", post your list and enjoy the rewards when someone brings a gift off of it.  Chances are you'll get more gifts than you'll turn away business... Or will you?

...the only problem is that Santa keeps telling me, "I'm sorry Lex, I tried buddy, but she won't see you."

but then I realized that there is a very practical purpose for it.

I, like many hobbyist, like to buy an occasional gift for an ATF, especially around the holidays, or Valentines day or their birthday.

I can see how very often the escort receives things that she either already has in abundance (lingeree often), or doesn't want (chocolates and candy seem to be almost universaly eschewed), or perfumes that are not the fragrance they seek.

Think of it as a gift registry and it starts to make sense.

No escort wants to have to lie while smiling and say how wonderful your gift is when, in fact, they have no earthly use for it.

This way you know you are getting them something that they appreciate and they are happier.  And we all know that a happy escort is more likely to make you happy.

Any gift is nice gesture of goodwill. However, let's be frank: Why get a gift for someone when you don't know what he/she likes? You're right!  It's the thought that counts, but I cannot tell you the amount of times I've rummaged through my cedar chest full of unwanted items, only to have to toss them in the garbage down the road. I actually feel badly about doing so, because I often wonder how much money he/she has spent on such a wasted gift. It saddens me.

Hugs,
Ciara

about two bags of clothes, tons of jewelry, and odds and ends every year. I also fill two bags of clothing, blankets, etc. for my comrades (veterans twice a year), and give to "Toys for Tots", among many other things. But thanks for the suggestion. :)

I volunteer my house, it has a big yard (and I'm not too fond of the neighbors.)

I thought the same that's why I really wanted to know the feelings on the subject....
I may post one then.

Someone mentioned flowers. I really would rather have a house plant, costs about the same....the plant last much longer if you have a green thumb!!!wink!

Thank you
Terri

. . . for an incall. Wouldn't it raise suspicion?

Dylanne D Angelo1184 reads

You have to check out the plant of the month club on 1-800-flowers.com I love the Bonsai Collection_ I put it on my wish list as the gift that keeps on giving- LOL

A gift is good only if you are sure it is useful otherwise a tip presented in a clever way is best in my opinion

A tip is part of the business transaction.  It says the service I received was above the call of duty and I am acknowledging it hereby so that you will know that in the future, your efforts will be similarly rewarded.

A gift, on the other hand, says nothing about the performance and everything about the relationship you wish to establish.  It is affectionate and caring in a tangible way.  Some gifts, especially jewelery, allow a person to remember the day and the person who presented it and forge a lasting bond.

MuffFluffer1231 reads

I leave a tip, substaintial if the session is outstanding and calls for it, nothing if it doesn't, 10" but have gone as much as 50% of the gift for a outstanding date.

That beats a box of candy for most ladies I've seen.

I kind of like the wish lists, makes everything a little more human and often there is a sense of humor embedded in the list. Like others, I rarely pay much attention to the lists. Rather I may  provide / bring a little token of appreciation - chocolates, flowers, etc. - if the time and circumstance allow and the mood is right.

But let's not over-analyze the subject - it's all in fun, or should be.

I like having that information.

I have brought gifts before, some were asked for, some were gifts for me, (lingiere, etc..), some were to add to the fantasy that this was a date and some were meant as a special thank you.

Don't feel bad about asking. Un-reasonable requests often get un-reasonable results.

And as I said below, add a few beautiful pictures of you.... and it will all be good.

I think it is nice to know what a provider might like.  I think a 'small gift' makes the whole encounter a bit more romantic.

Also if I had a ATF and I knew she had a hobby I would get her something for her hobby.  It just seems like a nice thing to do.

often, w/o ever having a list (or even a website!) -- always a surprise and a delight!  Some gifts have been simple and others incredibly expensive and very precious -- all are a surprise and, though not expected, the thoughtfulness certainly contributes to the overall feeling and experience.
