Scams and stings are continuing to happen....a lot!!! Scams suck, you are losing your hard earned cash. Sting suck because, well, they can ruin your life.
Please...please...please....post if you ever run across either, you being personally affected or know someone who has been.
Now the warning to everyone else....do NOT make fun of this person. Do not think this person is a dip shit. I am also warning myself because I have been this person rolling my eyes wondering how someone could make this mistake. This does not help anyone.
I have had too many clients that have been caught up in the scams, and several that have had heavy fines, loss of family and friends, and the loss of their jobs and livelihood because of the stings.
Please do whatever you can to support, uplift and encourage everyone to be safe and sane in this industry. Post the warnings to everyone so they know what to avoid.
2024 is right around the corner, and let's rally together to make our community the best it can be.
Hugs to all of you, and happy holidays!!

...that water will also remain wet in 2024.

I was under the assumption that California was decriminalizing... So I haven't been really concerned. I bet it's a lot different in other states!

If a guy gets scammed, I feel like it's because he probably didn't do his due diligence and research. I cannot believe, after so many years of being in this business, that guys still don't use google images or google number searches. It's always a huge red flag when they ask me if I am the girl in the pics. I just feel like it's so easy to google me and see that I am safe. It's so important to use the simple tools we have like review sites and phone number searches to keep all of us safe.

About simple google searches with regard to California “decriminalizing”.

Correct. I actually just spoke with a sex worker rights org in CA to clarify this and no, sex work has not been decriminalized in CA. They decriminalized "loitering with the intent for prostitution", which means that if you "look" like you might be working, the police cannot stop and harass you. The actual selling or buying of sex acts is still illegal. The change will not really affect anyone unless they buy or sell street based sex work.

A similar loitering statute was repealed in NY as well.

And just pointing out that "decriminalized" does not equal "legal", for those in the back of the room.

Then does it mean that it will just be relegated to the back burner, where it was for a very long time pre-FOSTA? I knew a provider who stated that she didn’t really want to see it legalized because then she would have to pay taxes on it. Now retired.

I have done the phone search thing where it turns up as gobbledygook. If number area code is different from those used in your area, it is then very suspicious.

Every city & every state you travel to they all have different laws. The best is to have criminal attorneys in every place you work I do it’s my personal comfort zone.  I don’t see lots of clients & I do my due diligence vetting potential new friends, so I am not worried about any law enforcement. No need to pump fear in people’s hearts this Holiday Season this is supposed to be fun. lol is all this making your dick soft…

Smile 4 me!

you had a LEO send you his real world ID (a photograph of him holding his real ID, plus a deposit, who was trying to set you up for a sting?  This sounds more like a hypothetical in your case.  How much do you pay in annual retainers to have your attorneys "in place."  You crack me up with the unnecessary drama.  Lol

Some clown had my name and telephone number. They even had my home address. Asked for $3,000 or they would contact my employer and next of kin to inform them that entangled with SWers.  They even offered a 12 month payment plan with nominal interest..

That happened in may of this year.  I did a reverse number check on those clowns and they had multiple complaints levied against them. I simply ignored them and I hadn’t heard from them since.

Was that the same one that issued death threats along with mutilated bodies?

That's the weakness of such extortion schemes.  The only reason to go through with the threat in the case of non-payment would be as a warning to others, since carrying out the threat removes all incentive to pay.  However in almost all cases, no one else knows of the threat, so carrying it out accomplishes nothing.  That's why they hardly ever carry through with threats (if they had your ID info in the first place.)  It's just extra effort that accomplishes nothing and ends any possible chance of collecting.

I have ha it twice where I was caught by the police (A Sting)

First of all, I have bee doing this off and on for almost 30 years. Ladies, We all got to read between the lines when we talk to  the clients.
