Over Christmas I was talking to my sister about a friend of hers that is visiting her brother in Thailand. My sister told me that this guy had an apartment in Thailand for business and then this is where it got chilling...

She said he also kept his apartment there becasue he is HIV posative and they have a great sex trade there for him... Gulp!

So my question is... is ther an HIV posative sex trade out there, or is he just infecting their population and saving ours? or...

I guess I had an understanding that there are risks to this trade, but when you hear about guys that know they have HIV engaging in the "sex trade" it puts a new spin on the hobby.

any thoughts?

PS I do not know if he is gay or straight... either way it is mind boggling.

I had to cut myself off from a good friend because he wanted to get involved in the sex trade.

He wanted me to help him get into the business...and I refused to help.

I told him that if anyone found out that I knew he had HIV, hell would break loose.

I walked away and never looked back

Because she said especially that they have a great sex trade FOR HIM; that's what I would believe initially. Though I would ask her more about it to find out. It seems that Thailand would have a lot of HIV positive providers who still need money.

I have seen something like that on singles' websites. In those case, though, it was a person with herpes looking for another person with herpes.

It is not crazy or even immoral for an HIV-positive male to make himself available as a sex partner to other positive gay men.  Based on what I've read, an informed "client" may want to get information on the guy's viral loads and should still practice safe sex.  But if you're positive your choices are basically no sex or sex with other positives.

It's so sad to me... that once you get hiv or some disease, suddenly your options are only sex with yourself or sex with a much smaller piece of the population (unless you're a selfish asshole who doesn't inform your partner and spreads disease around.) Either way, it sounds so sad to me... and the thought of some guy possibly infecting unknowing providers in other parts of the world is alarming and unsettling.

to spreading HIV to someplace else... if you are a sociopath and are knowingly subjecting women or men in Thailand... who is to say you are not doing the very same thing in your country of origin... the US...?

Chilling?

I only hope my sister was mistaken or in Thailand they have a population of infected providers to cater to that population. and... that this guy is not a sociopath...

I agree, I had seen a post a few months back where a guy (hiv positive) was willing to pay $10,000 to have unprotected sex with a provider.. Creepy, I wonder if someone took the offer.. If you dont have hiv, its like putting a price on your life... REAL TALK....
