Controlling behaviour. Expecations. Quality of sex conditioned upon relationship drama. Accumulation of annoyances left undealt with, becoming an edifice of resentment. Hard Feelings. Distance. Separation. Longing and despair, or sometimes blissful relief LOL.

Maybe its me but I've never had a "real"  relationship that did not eventually go there if I let them go on too long. 1 or 2 years max and time to say goodbye while we're still friends. And can have "friends with benefits" sex on occasion lol. And good memories....

It has become my mottoe that attachment and exclusivity only serves to ruin good sex (LOL)

And I am a total non-believer in monogamy, which in my view is nothing but a bronze age superstitious construct and imminently impractical

But here I am, taking the plunge again, after a hiatus of several years.....

Per my experience, I am of the opinion the extreme renewed desire is rooted in conquest and control based on an attempt reconquer lost territory.

I'm guilty of that myself and have found the experience ( or reconquest ) has not met inflated expectations. I am not assigning fault for the disappointment.

Besides, when it comes to an ex, why make the same mistake twice?

I stood by a fire reviewing the photo album...  dropped every pict of the ex into the flames...  never looked back.  A few times, mutual aquaintances tried to tell me they'd seen her.  I quietly told them that I did not care to know her business & did not care to share mine with her.  
That was the last time I thought of her...  totally moved on!
