subconsciously uptight about running out of TP later this week.  I have to get better about recognizing you fucking with me.  Lol

And Ashley is right, it is a good article.

LLAP,
Swim

Now I have seen many "preparing", maybe some overly so, but no "panicking" on any real, tangible level.

There has been a run on certain things like Purell/hand sanitizer, toilet paper, bottled water and certain foods but I just think that is human nature and self preservation kicking in.

Supply chains are being tested, but holding up well for essential items and I think that will continue for the duration of this contagion.

Virtually everything I have seen so far has been orderly. Things I saw on 9/11, now THAT was panic, and rightfully so, but now? No, this isn't even close to that horrific day and the weeks that followed so some perspective is needed.

Have you seen otherwise?

that I have been patronizing for years, and it was the first time I had seen lines more than three people deep at EVERY checkout register.  Usually they have three open at a time.  Every shopping cart was full.  it was crazy.  I had to wait behind 15 people to use the self-check-out station.  It took about half an hour.  I understand what they are doing, they are buying a 14-day supply of food for each  member of the family in case they  are quarantined.

I live in a coastal community in Orange County.  Its NOT a poor area.  Average house price is about $1.6 million.  I don't know why my neighbors are not looking at quarantine the way I do.  They all have the money.  If I must be quarantined, I will simply order my meals delivered from restaurants.  I will prepay with a credit card, including tip, and give instructions for the delivery person to just put it on the front porch, ring the doorbell, and leave.  He/she will not come into contact with me.  (I will also tell them if they fuck me with a bad meal, I won't order again.)  Its simple, and foolproof.  I will get good food that I like, without making any compromises, and I won't be opening cans of creamed corn and heating them up in a microwave.  Ugh.  Its only 14 days people.  We are not descending into a bomb shelter and not knowing when we will be able to come out.  I can't help but laugh at these idiots.

Hi. I am your Postmates and GrubHub delivery driver. I hope you don't mind but I sipped a little bit of your Coke, and my grubby little hands reached down the bag and took some of your fries. Enjoy your meal sir. Thanks for the tip!

Presupposes that I would use a delivery service, which I never do.  If you’re willing to pay, someone from the restaurant where they already know me would make the delivery.   I did that for a week once when recovering from a surgery.  The meals came on a regular plate with a cloche, which I returned when they dropped the next  meal off.   Good quip though. The imagery made me laugh.
PS.  I admit I didn’t think to count the fries. Lol

And your home is worth 1.6M....You live  in a dump or in Luguna Nigel....and that ain't no coastal community...lol
The OC, why am I not surprised,,,,,lol

Actually, I AM surprised.  I said the average price is about 1.6 mil.  I did NOT say what mine was worth, and its none of you business.  I have a view of the ocean, so its north of the average.  That's all I will say.  Every place I have ever owned RE, the value was higher than the surrounding average.  My post is not about me, its about the average of the people that live near where I do.  (I assume you are referring to Laguna Niguel, but are so unfamiliar with the area that you don't know how to spell it, so I will  further assume that's the basis for your uninformed post,  I believe there might be a Laguna "Nigel", but he's a British surf bum who hangs out on the beach.)  Although there are ocean views from some parts of Laguna Niguel, I don't live there.

But with all due respect, this last post does come off as "About you". You don't have to defend yourself to me..Irvine, Laguna Niguel  or where ever you live, don't matter.  Bustin your balls...
Funny, wow never really thought about it but I  have a ocean view from my house.....and I live about 35 miles from the beach. I'll list it as an ocean view property....lol....Joke, lighten up

Interesting lead off with the first point.  Even I forgot about the early days of AIDS.  You didn’t know what it was or where it came from.  For know, we know the enemy we are fighting.  The solutions for COVID might not work, but at least we won’t fear a 12 year old boy with a nosebleed.
