YMMV: It is What it is....

I don't see that in a review as either positive or negative.  I suppose, in thinking about it, that it usually means that a hobbyist didn't get everything he thought he was going to get in a session and then uses YMMV as a way to justify it in his mind.

I already asked this question of providers so I thought I'd ask my fellow hobbyists as well.  I have my own ideas but wanted to hear others' opinions.

I read the provider's worst reviews to establish the floor.

I read the provider's best reviews to establish the ceiling.

I see where the rest fall in between.

Then I go out and TOFTT with an unreviewed provider, preferably from Craigs List.

Or, if I'm not feeling particularly adventurous, I just rub one out and forget all about it.

There are a lot of variables here and it depends on the context. If the guy is complaining that he didn't get what others claim to have received I would probably think he had a hygiene issue or was rude or rough with the lady. OTOH, if he is bragging that he got something from a gal that is not mentioned in any of her other reviews I would assume that he is lying. I guess it's fairly obvious what my feelings are on this sort of thing but I make no apologies for giving the lady the benefit of the doubt when I see "YMMV" in a review.

DF, unless I have been totally smitten by her pictures and just have to see her, I will probably pass.  I don't want to be the one to get the lower mileage and come away disappointed.  Of course, $$$ is a factor as well.

There are too many wonderful providers out there who always deliver the goods I am looking for.  Why waste time on one who may or may not?  I prefer the sure thing.

Swim

that you got some service that is "off the menu" as a result of a special chemestry you may have shared.

Such things as CIM or COF and sometimes Greek are the things that come to mind.

I have frequently been the beneficiary of such treatment, but out of respect to the provider, I won't mention it in the review to avoid her having to put up with dissappointed gentlemen that she would not want to perform these things with.

in reviews.  While its specific meaning can vary with context, the fact remains that no single hobbyist or no single provider will act exactly the same during every single encounter.  We're humans and our moods, health, energy levels, libido, etc. are going to vary at different times.

As mentioned already in some of the replies,  the contexual usage of YMMV can carry both negative and positive connotations.  Some guys use it when something is lacking in a session and essentailly they are wondering if perhaps it was just their own session that had this missing.  Others as Mr Fisher indicates use it to hint that they were perhaps honored by a service that is not typically rendered.
In each instance the YMMV flag is saying 'you may not get the same experience'.

So when I read (and write) reviews and YMMV comes to mind, I'll draw a conclusion based upon context of that particular review in comparison to other posted reviews about that lady.

However as I first mentioned, YMMV is ALWAYS a part of this hobby.  ALWAYS...

Sorry, but if someone came in with nasty teeth= yes your mile be varied lol

If someone shows up stinky and funky and refuses to take a shower= yes, your mile will be varied lol

If someone shows up demanding, rude, and obnoxious= yes, your mile will be varied, and your butt will be shown the door, instead of the bedsheets lol

I have sometimes received less than stellar service and not for the reasons you mentioned.

I am clean and courteous.  I always shower before the session and will even take another one at the location.  I brush my teeth ahead of time and load up on breath mints.  The only thing left is that the provider finds me unattractive in some way and denial of services or substandard performance is how they show it.  YMMV can also be a license to discriminate.

Yes there are many hobbyists out there who are obnoxious and nasty, and they will not take that into account when they write a review, but there are providers who, unconsciously or not, will not provide a high level of service for someone they personally find unattractive.

I understand that providers get tired, cranky, and have off days just like everyone else so I try to take that into account too.  I once received lackluster service from a provider but rated her higher than her performance warranted because I saw her late at night and it seemed like a long day for her.

For those instances where a provider does a little "extra" for a special client I find it better not to even mention it in a review since it will cause her more grief when other clients start to request it.

I'd like to give providers the benefit of the doubt but I'm too subjective about it.  I recently had a provider tell me that I should have told her I was of a certain ethnicity so she could "prepare" [you can guess how that session went]. I'm sure she won't say that to white guys so should I let that go as YMMV?

The lady lacks consistency in her performance.  For some guys she is a mega GFE and for others the spontaneous passion is just not there.  Often times, it is the guys fault for whatever reason.  I have found that IF you treat the lady correctly (as a lady) then you will be rewarded with a very good session.

I agree with you for the majority of providers I've seen but I feel that a few of them really didn't find me physically appealing and they let it show in their performances.  I'd love to know for sure and not rely on assumption but I'm sure they'd all deny it - they'd have to, it's business.

BTW, I'm not just referring to low-priced providers either.
