Is everyone entailed to a safe work environment?  
 
No!  some professions are dangerous.  

 
This is the general board, my statement was general, in nature, generally  speaking.

If I said SW is unsafe, deal with it. You would have a point

Everyone is entailed to a safe work environment, regardless of ones  profession.  This is a basic right afforded to all workers, EXCEPT Sex Workers.  

Please support December 17th, and as Clients, we all need to ensure the SWers we spend time with, invest in, and enjoy, are safe from fear and harm.  

We all wish our Firemen, Policemen, or Armed Services personnel, while having dangerous jobs or having to deal with dangerous situations, we all wish them to be as safe as society can afford.  But due to the lack of decriminalization for all SWers, they are not afforded these basic rights of protection.  Therefore it is up to us to help as a community.

So I urge my fellow Clients, Hobbyists, or Supporters to do what you can to help protect SWers from harm.  You can do that by supporting their screening requirements, health requirements, or could even go so far as to ask them what you can do help.  They may even be impressed and pleased you offered to help, and will have some great ideas

Some professions are dangerous by the nature.  That would include the military, police and firemen.  Sex work is dangerous because some women are assaulted and robbed.  That's hardly a necessary or "natural" part of the job.  At least it shouldn't be.  And police and firemen don't say they're "entitled" to a safe environment but they certainly get as much help with their personal safety as is possible.  Sex Workers don't.
God, why am I even debating an issue with a post-lobotomy patient?

1. Not true, not all workers are afforded a safe work environment. There are plenty of regulated, and unregulated professions that can be dangerous.

2. All workers "EXCEPT" Sex Workers? It's not good practice to marginalize SW, more so than already practiced.

The majority of laws have been sold and bought by the public, as a means of protection.

Obviously I am not condoning violence against SW, or women in general.

When you compare sex work, to other occupations, that is marginalizing SW.

When you say laws are a means of control(which there is an argument for) it makes SW sound like they are victims. Which is my pet peave about recognizing SW on a specific date.

I come from the school of modesty, where you don't need to make a big deal about always doing the right thing.

date for this?  I checked online and the banks are still going to be open, so must be like Columbus Day, where some people get it off and others don't.  If its not a paid holiday, then it holds little interest for me.

Why is the only thing I can take away from that college, is not to be a a SW. What else is there to be learned from that?

I also would like to know how many of those women were killed by clients, or killed by supposed loved ones(domestic violence)?

As usual, Sarah, you are the voice of reason - this time with hardly saying a word.  Pictures have a way of doing that. A collage of just one picture for this cause is one too many.    

Sometimes it's lost on some of us that every woman we see in the hobby risks her own safety as she stretches the limits of the law (except in a few places) to make us happy. I've had to help more than one deal with a serious assault perpetrated on them.  It does happen so let's not pretend it doesn't, or that it's just part of the game.  

Of course,like any business they charge a premium because of the risks they take, but I for one could never begrudge them that, as they've made me a whole lot happier than money does.    

Note to contrarians in the GD Board: It's often fun to read your contrary views as they stimulate robust discussion; but hopefully you will not feel an obligation to continue to be contrary on this topic.  There are many more that will come down the road, but the definition of wisdom often comes down to knowing when to hold em and knowing when to fold em.

I will disagree that providers charge a "risk premium"  If that were the case the girls working in the rather safe confines of the Nevada brothels would be charging less and not more. They charge what the market will support, and apparently NSA sex is "worth" hundreds of dollars per hour in this country. It certainly is to me, wouldn't you agree? lol

I would hope the one thing we all can agree upon (the village idiot aside of course) is that we all want the ladies here to be as safe as possible and getting rid of these stupid puritanical laws making them criminals, afraid to call LE when victimized, would go a LONG ways in making them (and us) safer.

I suppose there is no premium now that I think of it, as where sex work is legal in Nevada, there sure doesn't seem to be a discount at those establishments.  And I agree with your other points, too lol

The last I checked this was an occupation of choice.

Who ever said these things don't happen? I still remember a 18 yo YL I met in my early 20s who was strangeld by a man who killed a number of working ladies.

My first comment in this thread, was I found fought with the statement that everyone but providers are entailed to a safe work environment.
