...because the sex will likely come if I have those two anyway.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Time is also a terrible thing to waste because time is money.

I already have all the money I really need.

So I choose all three. :p

for instance, if I know I'm dying in 30 minutes I don't particularly care about the state of my mind or bank account. Assuming the state of my mind was sufficient, sex would stand well above the other two.

And, what is it I'm really choosing here. Choose two and that's all you get forever? Choose two to consume at the same time (they all do see to be a bit complementary rather than substitutes). So I do find sex quite enjoyable if I am mentally there so sanity (at lease some forms) and sex seem like a really good combination. Sanity and money, but no sex, doesn't seem so great.

But in the end, I'm more of a if the world presents constraints and I'm not particularly in agreement with those constraints I'll likely look for solutions to that problem.

But Fisher, what prompted to query? Just starting a more sane discussion topic or something else?

So sex is a given. As Donnie Darko would say what is the point of life if you don't have a dick?

Guess sanity would be second. Being totally insane would be a rather large detriment.

The way I see it, plenty of poor people have the ability to lead happy lives. Then again, poor people have *some* money, just not a lot of It.

If we can have *some* of whatever we don't choose I feel like this makes it a lot different. Lol

It's a side effect of aging, and my educational background.  (philosophy  major)

And yes, you only get to choose two, which is what makes the argument compelling.

Like others, I put sex on top.   So now I'm wondering what should come second.    So far, sanity is winning out over money, but sometimes I wonder if sanity is over rated.

It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society. - Krishnamurti
.
Looks like I’m already insane, so I might as well take all the money and sex. I can handle.
.
Besides, with enough money, I can buy enough power to fix all the things that make us insane. So truly, for y’all‘s own benefit, start handing the all that money and sex over and just let me do my crazy thang thang.🤪

For example, if you want something, you can get it "Fast, Good, or Cheap" - pick two.

Okay, perhaps its the state of my sanity but I always hate, and generally rebel against, such constraints. But it's your game so I should not be too impolite about it.

Which perhaps gets to a proper response to your last observation. Sanity would suggest I play by the rules so I suppose that adds another vote against it (and they do say things like Dementia, which seems like it would qualify as closely connected with sanity, are one's second childhood). Plus, money was one of the three critically needed items from Warren Zevon's old song.

But at the risk of being called a silly relativist I have to stay with my "answer" is a set of answers each dependent on the assumed external conditions prevalent at the time of choice. So I suppose at this point in my life I would go for the money and sex, with the small caveat that excluding sanity and choosing money does mean the money stays around. (And hope that I don't take some bizarre form where I have some fear of money and sex!)

I’m slightly insane because I spend way too much money having way too much sex! Does that qualify?!

...is one of my favorite viral tweets from the glory days of Twitter. Sanity be damned! As someone who's always owned my crazy, I'd definitely choose money and sex. ;-)
