Does anyone [obsess over their read count and] do things to boost it [apart from composing interesting and well-thought out posts?]. [And you can do these things without obsessing].


For example ;

1. use of an alias if you are an abrasive or argumentative personality, or have developed dedicated enemies on the various boards [that way the message is not ignored because of the messenger];

2. use of clever [or so you'd like to believe] titles?;

3. use of eye-catching terms and phrases [for example "worry,"  "problem," "need advice,"  "have you ever...," "what's been your experience," "what do you think?," etc...;

4.resort to simple but time-proven, tried-and-true literary devices [irony, sarcasm, humor, double-entendre, plays on words, etc...

5. other stugff i'm too brain-addled to think of and haven't yet tried?
