Some people here get VERY hung up on the various terms, but personally I am not a slave to political correctness. Conversely, I also use the terms Client, john, trick et al interchangeably as well.

If you are selling pussy, does it really matter what you are called? and the same goes for those of us buying pussy.

In ads I'd say "escort" and here with my naughty johns ;) you may call me "The Happy Hooker." :

Both may denote the same activity, but the connotation of the words (IMHO) is different. I tend to regard hooker and prostitute as words that evoke a negative feeling, whereas I see escort as a more positively evocative term.

It is like if we use those terms, they are not even human. And if someone is not human, they may not be treated justly and honorably. Let us not kid ourselves. The labels we use affect how we view others and sometimes those views are manifest themselves in poor treatment. I don't think that is being "politically correct." I think it is being "decent."

how can she be degraded by being called a "hooker" or a "prostitute?"
My answer is, she can't be.  Anymore than you or I would be degraded by being called a "john" or a "trick."

This Board (and this website) is all about fantasy, not reality.  Despite the fantasy that you are basically paying a woman to have some sort of sexual relationship, you still have to be nice.  Even in imaginary land people react better to Honey than Vinegar.  This being said:
You can say Provider,
You can say Coutesan
You can say Sex Worker (SW)
...and you generally wont get in trouble with the ladies (BSC or otherwise)
Sometimes you can say Escort depending on the context and still be OK
But call most women a Hooker or a Prostitute here and you are generally looking at minimum instant dislike, or at maximum will be Black Listed by certain members here.  You will definitely catch shit for it on the boards.
Definitely don't say Ho.
Its all about connotation

As I said earlier, I use the words almost interchangeably, sometimes using two or more of the different terms in the same paragraph and I have ZERO worries about being put on any DNS or Blacklists.

Are you really so clueless that you haven't figured out how to use the word hooker and still be nice at the same time?

Most women who get upset about the word hooker are uptight about virtually everything else as well. The fun girls here are not so hung up on Political Correctness, a few of them will even use the "C" word when describing themselves. Tobi for example refers to her occasional "cuntiness" all the time. Lighten up Francis, it's only a word. It's the way you say it, not the word itself that is offensive.

I'm with those articulating the "a rose by any other name..." view on the terminology. However, I'll put it in this way to answer: The women I see are all escorts and companions; those you're seeing are clearly whores. (They're seeing you right?  ;-)

I can only tell you what offends me. I find those aforementioned words to be degrading and down putting. You are well aware those terms have negative connotations in our society. Wouldn't you agree with me it is likely that most ladies in this realm are hurt, offended or troubled by these words? Of course my evidence is all anecdotal, I will grant you that, but it is consistent as you review escort ads.

Do you see ladies refer to themselves as "hookers" or "prostitutes" in their advertising? I will concede I am not familiar with every ad, and there are some who may use those terms, but here, at least, it is very rare. If those words meant nothing to them i.e. they were all on an equal par with each other, you would see ladies use all of those terms interchangeably in their posts, ads, threads but they do not. Many overwhelmingly avoid those words, intentionally. I would conclude they avoid them because they feel they are degrading and humiliating, whether you believe that or not.

I believe you are a female hobbyist. If I am wrong I apologize. But haven't I seen several post of yours where you have gotten offended when some people here leave out the female pronoun when referring to the purchasing side of this business? Let me add I have zero problem with you doing this. It is your right and something you feel strongly about.

But why is it alright for you to be offended by what many here would deem a minor faux pas, and not be the least bit troubled to use degrading words about the fine woman who provide such a tremendous rush and thrill. I am not asking you to change, Lopaw. I am asking you to see the other side.

and that goes for most of the girls as well as the guys, if you are going to get all butt hurt over the use of the word "hooker' you aren't going to have a lot of fun here.

We are NOT going to change how we talk around here to please you or anyone else for that matter, and for the record a LOT of women here refer to themselves as hookers, whores. sluts and even cunts at times. Get over it.

Let me ask you a question, How many hookers do you have as friends? I don't mean "sex providers" that you pay for sex, but actual friends that you talk to on a daily basis about shit that has nothing to do with spending money on them? I doubt you have even one hooker friend. I have dozens. These are women that I talk to all the time,  some of them several times a day, virtually every day and we use the word hooker all the time. I'll make you a deal, when you can claim even half as many hooker  buds as I have, THEN you can lecture me on how I talk to my friends. Until then, get over it.

Lastly these boards are not "society" they are fuck boards where hookers and johns get together to talk about all sorts of shit. Some of us are strangers, some of us are quite good friends on and off the internet. Don't you think it's a bit presumptuous as a newcomer here to tell the rest of us how to address friends of ours that we have known literally for years? Now grow the fuck up and at least try to enjoy yourself.

when I think of hookers I think of street walkers, unclean, sketchy prostitutes. The type everyone knows about, no one brings around their friends... just the type that gets the job done and boom... you want them gone.

Escorts tend to be upscale, discrete, clean, companions that usually do more than suck dick when together....

I actually enjoy conversation, dinner and deeper engagements with my clients.... I consider myself an escort/companion...

although I can roleplay and turn into a hooker for ya :P

I am not sure what I need to "get over" either. I addressed the OP's question, gave him my honest opinion. That is frowned upon here? Where did I state or imply that people should "change how we talk around here?" I did no such thing. What I did do, is point out that I felt certain words are demeaning. If you disagree, so be it.

I have seen you use the word "c*nt" here. I would be willing to bet this is not a word you use to address women in the real world too often, if ever. Why is that? You would think, and the recipient would most likely think as well, you would be degrading her. Of course you being close with her personally changes the ground rules. Point conceded.

I will also concede I do not have very close relationships in this pay for play world. And, again, I did not lecture you, as this is my first response to you in this thread so I am not sure why you are taking this personally. For some reason, this has struck a nerve with you and I honestly have no idea as to why. All that said, let me ask you a question. Do you think the majority of women here, if asked privately and knew their comments would be held anonymous, believe that "hooker" and "prostitute" are terms of endearment? If you are being 100% forthright with me, and you had to place a live or die type of bet, would you bet most ladies in escorting are fine with those terms or would you bet those terms make them feel belittled and demeaned? I answered your question honestly and would appreciate the reciprocity.

Just because something doesn't offend you, and a few friends here, doesn't mean its not offensive to many others, if not most. Not sure where the angry reply is coming from as I would hope you can tell there is no anger in my reply. We can both discuss something here, have vastly differing views, and still act as adults. Can we not? Thank you for your response.

People use both terms to mean "prostitute." But there is a difference. There actually are people who just escort, as in literally accompany another person somewhere, without sex.

There is no difference, however escort is a more positively accepted term because it creates a class separation between girls who walk the streets and girls who get taken out on lavish dates.
