I'm 45, and in July I hit the apex of my weight - 208 pounds on my 5'7" frame. I decided I needed to get back into shape. It had been at least 10 years since I had been below 180.  In February, I had given up soda, but not for weight reduction. Just too much caffeine.

Anyway, in July, I got serious about it. I run a lot, and have lost almost 45 pounds now. While I've noticed some changes (hey, I can see junior again!!), the biggest has been sex. Before, I struggled sometimes to finish. Often times I was winded trying. I sweated some, but not profusely.

Now I feel like a damn teenager. I can go for long periods, and I have no problem finishing. While I expected to have more energy and not tire so much, I didn't expect finishing would be easier, more fun, and with so much gusto.

Has that happened to anyone else?

I've gone from 281 to 240 since this past April. Although I've always been fairly active though I have noticed my stamina increase dramatically. I have been hitting the gym hard and working with a trainer as well as watching my diet. Although I have never had trouble finishing I have found that it is a lot more fun to take my time and it makes everything much more intense. Still working on dropping a few more pounds and getting in even better shape so I'm excited to see where things will go from here.

sort of energized in mind and spirit after successfully losing weight. They seem to be more experimental too, more willing to try new and kinkier things.

Weight loss helps heaps for sure but so does your improved blood flow from exercising, and I'm sure we all know how important good blood flow is ;) especially in this hobby

Some of my best lovers/clients have been on the big side; weight can impact sex and ability, but it doesn't always, and that's dependent on a lot of other factors.

If someone your height and weight at 208, were an avid fitness enthusiast, i would doubt that their weight would impact their sexual stamina; if someone were your height an weighed far less than you did, that may in fact effect their sexual stamina.

Morbidity factors play an important role outside of weight, and there are numerous studies throughout medicine that correlate morbidities to weight, and numerous studies that don't correlate them.  I've encountered more svelte, slender, or average looking people who are on medications like statins, blood pressure medications, and other medications that effect sexual prowess moreso than any person who appears to be overweight.

As for your personal experience? Completely legit, as it's your personal experience.  if you're focusnig on your overall fitness and health and not just concentrating on weight loss, you're probably doing a plethora of good for yourself outside of lowering the number on the scale.  If you feel good and healthy, keep on keeping on with what you're doing. :)
