But that being said, yes... It's a lot safer especially if you have quarantined yourself for a couple of weeks after your 2nd shot..
I was fully vaccinated on 4/7, have have seen 1 regular provider and 2 SBs (dumped them after that...Figured that if I had spent so much time talking to them, might as well see them.. ) since 4/20 Feels good to be back in the saddle..
Studies show after the first of a two shot regiment, about 3 weeks after first shot folks are 80% effective. Better than a flu shot. We have been told two weeks after shot #2 we are 95% effective and fully vaccinated . Shot #2 is important as it activates something with the T cells, you know those cells that HIV/AIDS kills off. At at 5% risk of catching COVID, I will take those odds.
No guidance today from the CDC, fully vaccinated people can start taking off their masks indoors.
From the NY Times: "Fully vaccinated people — those who have received their final Covid-19 vaccination at least two weeks ago — no longer need to wear masks outdoors or in most indoor settings. " Also from the NY Times, the director of the CDC. “If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.” I know some never stopped. I slowed down and took several pauses over the last 14 months. I have an ATF that I have been seeing during the pandemic. She wanted to wear a mask and wanted me to wear one too. I plan on seeing her Sat, I wonder if she will be willing to ditch the mask? So, if you are vaccinated sounds like it is safe from a COVID standpoint. Of course there are still LE and STD concerns.
