What I normally do is when seeing someone for the first time I ask for:
#1. A valid work & work telephone number (either one is fine._
#2. A provider reference (unless the gent has never seen anyone.)
I do tell the new client that I am just making sure that they are not L.E. Most understand and comply, others say, I don't feel comfortable giving out that info.
If the client does not understand, I will not see them!

Why do some escorts screen me so thoroughly while others agree on the time and give out their incall addresses on the spot? If I was an escort I would definitely be cautious. Or, is there some loophole that is used upon arrival? When the customer shows up at an incall location or the escort to the outcall location is there something the girls do that helps them avoid LE? I, for one, would like the girl to be a little more inquisitive. Seems to me that girls who are safe seem to have their heads on straight. Girls who take chances seem desperate. Opinions???
I wonder the same thing. I found a providder on the web, called her and she let me set up meeting with her without any verification. No caller ID (I blocked it before calling her). I just showed up and away we went. It has been great but I always wonder how she avoids getting busted. And she does appear to ahve her head on straight. No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking, working full time and doing this part-time. College degree. Very attractive. Great service. So I don't have an answer for you, just the same questions.
Many use the "Gut instinct" level of screening. They talk to you get a feel for your vibe and go from there.
For me I need a little more security. I want to know that you are safe and I want you to know the same of me! I spend as much time looking into your references references as at yourself. Of course once that has been done... it is all down hill from there!
Play safe...

I've always gone on straight intuition, and (maybe surprisingly?) I've never had a bad experience either as an escort or a model. I go by what someone's talking about and how they talk about it, it helps dealing with the internet because there's usually an exchange, a conversation before an appointment is set up. LE typically isn't very imaginative, they'll have a list of questions and stick to it, they don't usually keep up a lengthy correspondence or reveal anything personal. In my area, (Toronto,) they were doing a sweep related to child porn and underage escorts before Christmas, in one week I had three calls from guys asking the same list of questions, all about how I do business and not about services offered, (i.e. if I come for an incall, how many other girls are there? do you go on the road? etc.) They were questions no hobbyist in his right mind would ever ask, and like I said, they weren't about setting up an appointment, they were about finding out what I do. Not hard to spot! Around here though, I doubt they would take the trouble to go after an independent in the absence of a specific complaint.

I so agree with Shaye, If they do not want to give me the info I request then there is somone else that will see them. I feel, I need to be comfotable too and I like to know who I am seeing before I see them.
I am NOT into big-time surprises!
Yes. It is my main concern. It accounts for the screening process you describe. It is why I ask for full time employment information and do not accept part time employment as any kind of varification. Nothing is 100% foolproof, but in doing so, the odds are much better. Those that cannot understand my reasons why I ask for such information, I do not see.
There are ladies that I do think become complacent on their vigilance, not because of desperation, but because nothing has happened to them. They do rely on that "gut instinct". They also believe a lot fairy tales IMHO. For example that a police officer will never disrobe and so if the gent disrobes first, he is safe. That is false.
Law Enforcement has its less than stellar moments also. For example the independent lady that was caught in a sting operation on x-mas eve a couple years back. Five officers promised to let her go for sexual favors(a virtual gang bang). She did, but was taken in anyway. Law Enforcement are some trusted clientele and there are those that do play by the rules. I had one that was trying to get through to me via email, but could not get past my screening process, nor could he get me to incriminate myself through our communications. He finally relented, told me who he was, said my process was superb, not to change anything and to keep safe.
Although there is truth in the fact that independent ladies are at less risk of getting caught up with LE, they are still a target. It why it is important for the ladies to network the way we do to inform each other of areas of potential risk. Lessons are also learned from those ladies that have been caught by LE. The last turn about in our area had an independent that was taking last minute appointments without screening. She is no longer around and ended up turning another independent in, who also is no longer around. It is why I do not take last minute appointments, unless you are established clientele.
I know to the gents it can be frustrating at times and that it may seem that some ladies are full of themselves, but it is not the case. It is a necessary precaution. I would urge those that take a complacent attitude toward their screening to rethink what they are doing. For it is not only LE that one has to watch out for, it the lunatics that would harm a lady also. Don't even get me started on those tales.....
