Even in couples councelling with my wife (now ex).

The therapist was not opposed to my seeing other women "in theory" if I felt right about it myself.

To make a long story short, my wife did not want to go back to that therapist.  This therapist was a woman, by the way.

(And no, I didn't start screwing around with her too!)  8o)

I saw another therapist during our divorce and he too offered support for my hobbying.  He said that as long as it is done in a way that is above board and honorable, it is a good way of releasing tension and anxiety, among other things.

...He was very supportive in my decision to hobby as long as I approached it safely.

He did looked shocked, but a little concerned, and said, "be careful." Neither of us ever brought it up after that. I'd seen others over the years, prior to seeing him. He's the only one I would have trusted to tell.

I know many of us are in marriages that aren't 100%, hence our hobby here. Many of us have been to couples therapy, or have seen therapists individually to work out our issues.  I was just curious to know if anyone's told their therapist about their adventures, and if so, what was their response.

Has anyone gone to a marriage counselor and stayed with the wife for years after the counseling?
Years ago I was asked to go. I refused with no regrets.
I figured a shrink or marriage counselor would only take more of my 50% until our inevitable interpretations of incompatible reality, were mutually understood.

would be my wife.  she has anger issues and wants more money to waste on herself.  how dare i spend $2800 per hour on hotties that pretend to worship me?  my own therapist suggested i needed a "fuck buddy", but the hobby provides more than that.  I think the therapist would raise her rates if i elaborated that my "fuck buddies" are GFE P4P.  there, that was therapeutic by itself.  no confusion here, nope.

Your therapist has your mental health as his main goal. The first thing he may be concerned about is your safety, and whether there is evidence from the way you go about P4P that you are endangering your own health.

After that, the next most important aspect of this for him will likely be how you feel about it yourself. If you have unrealistically negative beliefs about yourself, and your P4P tends in your mind to "prove" these views, then he will want to address the validity if those beliefs in your sessions. You will have much to gain in terms of personal growth and mental health by doing this together with him.

If he thinks you are viewing commercial sex itself in an unrealistic way, for example feeling your interactions with providers are something they are not, then he will want to address that, so that you can learn to view commercial sex more realistically.

Having sex is a good way to release the buildup of sexual tension. P4P can be a good "stress buster", as long as the consequences of participating do not cause more stress in the long term.

I have told two couples therapists, my personal therapist, my doctor and my criminal defense lawyer. The two couples therapists ether blasted my wife for her providing or both of us for are arrangement. I quit going to couples therapy a while back as I could not find one that wasn't judgmental. My personal therapist was open minded. My doctor gave me all kinds of literature on STD'sand made me promise to play safe and get tested often. I think the criminal defense lawyer made sure I knew what to do if I got busted as dollar signs danced in his eyes. Any more questions.

Thank you all for your comments!

I was curious because I wondered if the therapist would be judgmental.  There's no way in hell I'd tell a couples therapist in front of my wife.  That would end the therapy and the relationship immediately, which I do not want to do at this moment.  If I tell someone, it will be an individual therapist.

I find it interesting that many of your therapists were positive, as long as you played safe.  I always play safe, both for my personal health, the health of my family...and for my legal health!

I would NEVER tell the couples therapist, plain and simple.  I would only tell my personal therapist, because they can't divulge what you tell to anyone.  However, if I knew that my personal therapist would also see us as a couple, I would hesitate to tell.  I also don't tell any of my close male friends either.  I did tell my brother that I saw a provider in Hong Kong once...but he is my brother, after all!
