I only use my aliases here when posting in lieu of my stage name.  I have tons of review under my stage name and i'm well known so this is kind of cool being annonymous from the guys.

WEll, I just realized this today:  I opened up my mail, and I received an uncashed check back from a company that I wrote out to. Apparently, I wrote it under the name "Melinda" with my correct last name LOL Those who are close to me, know my  real name, and no where is it close to Melinda..lol Does anyone have any similiar experiences?

Simply,

Mel ;)

I find myself mixing them up! I went out for a Ladies night one night with two other provider and a totally innocent, young girl who worked with one of the others' husband. While the three of us were on our way to pick up the little innocent one who has no idea about us, we tried to coordinate who knows who as what and what we should say around this person and what around this person. We were all laughing so hard, we just agreed to call each other 'hon', 'sweetie' or something!
Robyn and I had the same discussion while talking about the LV Mixer - it's a crackup!
In my posting titled "I envy you", I wanted to also mention that I really envy those ladies whose family members know. I think that's so great. I, on the other hand, could NO way have my family know and it's beginning to get uncomfortable. But, to answer Melinda's question..I keep all my email programs open at the same time, and almost emailed my sister from my sedona@naughtyescort email! AHHHH!
Or, after working all day, and answering my phone, I'll get in the car and start answering my messages and return calls, and have stumbled over my name when calling a client. All I can do at that point is laugh!

I've stumbled across my name several times when introducing myself outside of work.... people probably think I'm an idiot.

I do seem to remember however, back in my "real job" days that I forgot my own name once.  I was working for an Internet technical support tele-services center.  I had worked a lot of extra hours and I was really tired.  It was almost the end of my shift and I get a call.  I answer with the usual greeting "Thank you for calling technical support, this is um, um, um.  Can I have your e-mail address please?"  My mind just went blank!!!  The guy calling in just laughed about and I'm thinking to myself... " I can't remember my name.  How am I going to remember how to fix this guy's Internet software?"  I went straight home that night and went to bed!

So it happens to people without stage names too!

Needle. They drop the "Dick" part because it's less formal that way.

"the BugFucker" is not really my name,

it's what I do.

Or shall I say, "who I do"

NDtBF

Sometimes I find myself answering my home & mobile phones w/ the standard tech support spiel. It really confuses my siblings.

I hear ya.... I'm so glad that I'm not doing that anymore!  Kudos to you, though, if that's your chosen profession!  You have more patience than me.

I have been "out of commission" while coordinating a monster move for the last 6 months or so.  I was formerly known by one alias for quite some time, but have been consistently using my real name now for six months, without putting a lot of thought into "the biz," or the new alias.

I now have problems *not* putting my real name onto my alias email -- or my *old* alias into current (BJ's) email!  Yikes!!!  Since my signatures for my RL name, title, business, etc. is about 4 lines long, I usually realize it by the time I get to the 3rd line or so....  LOL  Sheesh!  I actually almost did it tonight!

LOL
