When are there enough reviews, and how far back do you browse?

A comment from a provider in the thread below regarded her reviews prior to 2005 not being accessible. It got me to wondering just how many reviews would be considered sufficient? How far back do we really need to scour? Sure more reviews means more history, and of course all the other positive ramifications.
But is it really so vitslly important to know how she was doing in 2002 as opposed to 8 years later? From my perspective, it usually means she's very good at what she does if she's lasted that long in this game. I rarely check a providers portfolio past page 2 of the reviews...or 1-2 years of history.

What's your take on it?

I would wait for at least 1 recent review before taking the plunge..

Whichever comes first.
For some providers their total numbers are like a badge of honor and some even use their rank in their advertising.

It is much less important to us then to the providers.

My take on it is exactly the same as yours.

2 pages, tops, is good. I really only go back that far to see if there is any insight as to what she might like or dislike. Favorite drinks, meals, experiences....can sometimes be garnered from reading multiple reviews.
Other than that...I figure if she was 'good' at something 5 years ago...she oughta be 'great' at it now. The more recent reviews will clarify that.

As with some other things...I think the women put more value on older reviews than we do.

I look at the reviews on the most recent couple of pages...  back to a year.  I don't need more than that.
I might scan for wide review swings prior but I seldom see anything that catches my eye to investigate.

When there are scores or sometimes hundreds of reviews available, I have no time or desire to read more than a minority of them. You are correct that the most recent ones are the most relevant. One thing I will do when there are lots and lots of reviews is look at the trends of the numeric scores. I agree with many people that numeric scores are usually not to be trusted and are often over scored, but when so many scores are available I find it interesting to scan across the several pages looking at the performance trends. Was there a stretch at some point where they dipped or peaked? Was there a point where they shot up? I may ponder about what caused it, a change in attitude or a change in offering?

I once plotted graphs of the score of several performance ratings for gals having several hundred reviews over several years. I was interested to see if there was maybe a seasonal affect. I got bored before I finished since it was so difficult to extract the data and statistically it’s difficult to coordinate the actual dates of service due to the three month uncertainty in the posted date of the review vs. the actual date of service. Yea, that’s right, I’m a nerdy geek.

do a quick page by page survey looking for dips and peaks during certain years or periods of time.

Often that can paint a picture, but do not put a lot of weight in it. I then go through the first two pages (mind you I have not read any reviews yet) then look for a good steady scoring and also check for reviewers I might know and trust to be truthful and not BS it.

Lastly I would maybe read several on the first page to make sure all my menu items are present and pick up the phone or grab the keyboard as it were. I also have GaGambler's manual below for backup.

I will study a full year's worth of reviews to make my final decision. I think that the most likely indicator of future performance is recent past performance. I'll peruse reviews older than a year, but mostly to look for anomalies in looks or performance scores.

Many of you don't know me...but lots of you do.

For most of the providers on TER, the reviews are an important tool to boost their business. More reviews with great scores means more appointments and that generates more money.

For me, I am in a stage of my provider career where I don't need a new review every week to keep my business afloat. I am not "bitching" about my reviews, far from it. I am not the only girl whose reviews over page 31 disappeared. If you look at Lila from DC - she has 700 plus - her reviews past page 31 also went poof.

After I posted my question to Admin, I got a mail from one of you asking why would I care for few pages of "old" reviews.

Let me tell you why...they have a sentimental value to me.

They are like old friends pictures, the kind you like to look at and smile to yourself, remembering them.

Many of the reviewers I have from 2002 to 2005 are not around anymore...either they passed, retired or simply are lurking.

Many are still my clients...some I have been seeing for the past 10 years, believe it or not.

These reviews represents a big chunk of my life in this business and I do treasure many of them because they were done by people I really enjoyed and cared for.

Also...I do enjoy when new guys contact me saying "I was reading some of your reviews, wow, you have almost 500!!!"

Maybe for some of the seasoned TER posters reading just 2 or 3 pages is enough to decide your choices. You have the hobby figured out to a "T" and don't feel nervous, insecure or in need of research much.

But, to the majority of the guys who are really the ones booking with us, a provider who is consistent over the years, with pages and pages of excellent performances, gives them the assurance they need to make their decisions. And many do read every single review of the girls they are considering seeing.

On a quick note, thanks Admin and FFP for PM me about this issue.

I look at the first page, if some of the reviews are written by reviewers I trust, and the scores are rock solid, that's enough for me. Reviews written by one hit wonders mean nothing to me, especially if they are 10's, seriously a once in a lifetime from a first time reviewer means zip to me.

If there a couple or three pages, I'll read every review. If there are too many more pages going too far back it actually makes me lose interest.

And see who wrote those reviews.  Anyone I know who wrote one, gets my attention. Otherwise, the 1-2 year standard you are applying, Doc, is reasonable.  At this point, since I have a well established circle of friends, and have been around here for a more than half a decade, I don't usually have to be as adventurous as in the past.  Usually...

I will certainly closely examine the initial 3 pages of reviews. After this point, I begin to sample or peruse older reviews. I look for consistency in the reports as well as repeat reviewers. Secondly, but of great importance, I consider the source of the review.

The older reviews may lend insight if any inconsistent services exist or to reinforce the validity of the more recent reviews. Older reviews beyond 2 or 3 years are appreciated for reference purposes to determine that the lady is well established.

Overall, I try to think of it as a brief and thorough sampling method that allows me to make informed decisions.

this doesn't materialize, then the consistency in the reviews will either convince me to see the lady in question or to pass.

see if i knew any of the reviewers. I would click on the reviewer's link and see if he had seen someone we have in common. If so, I'd send a PM asking for comparitive opinions. I find those more valuable than the actual reviews. If there seems to be a good match I will then read back about 1 year for all her reviews.

Is funny to see how different people "see" the existence of the reviews.

Every guy who posted here in this thread "uses" the reviews just to evaluate women body parts, to see how they are rated.

I cannot speak for all the women reviewed on TER, but when I read my reviews, they speak about the men who wrote them.

You look at them as numbers on a scale...I look at them as a testimony the men I have met decided to leave for me, not because they want to rate me for you...but because they truly enjoyed my skills.

Look up and see how many people are online at this moment. Thousands!

Search the boards and see how many people are posting. Few hundred!

The ones not posting are the lurkers, the true hobbyists, the ones who actually BOOK with us.

They have their personal reasons for not to post on the boards or write reviews....many of these guys are truly exceptional guys with very high profile careers and cannot risk to expose themselves. Yep, we see them all...from the everyday "john" to the "creme on the top".

You would be surprise to find out the real identity behind of some of these "one hit wonders" reviews :)

Many times, one of these low key guys told me "Betty, you know who I am and I cannot be out there, is risky for me, but...I did write a review for you".

So, sometimes one of these guys comes along and if they write a lone review is not because they are shills, but because their experience with us was a 10 in their personal scales. They are not rating us for YOU, they are writing how their encounter felt...for US!

Of course, many girls without experience in this business has the fake "one hit wonders" reviews. Is easy to spot when it happens.

But the ladies with pages and pages of consistent reviews have no need to boost their businesses asking friends to write about them, so instead of shun and pass over those reviews, you should read it :)

BTW, all my reviews are back up and, this morning, I took a trip down the memory lane to read them.

Thanks Admin and FFP!

Someone who has 10 years of reviews and still pulls good numbers currently says a lot.  Good bet she is not a flake or trouble maker.  IMHO.
