They're where like 90% of the internets memes originate as well as other notable things like rickrolling, lulzsec, Occupy Walstreet, most of the worlds celebrity sex tape leaks, and its been banned by just about every major ISP at one point or another.

honestly, if you like what seems to be the wild west on TER (general or pol) you'd probably like /b/ (the random board on 4-chan) there.

8-chan is where the vast majority of nazis hang out, but its super fun if your into trolling stupid people. 4-chan is a bit more moderated (marginally) and skews more toward the left.

I do deny that... vehemently actually. I troll 8-chan, though 4-chan, I've been on there periodically since Occupy Wall Street.
