What can I say?  After the umpteenth conversation with Providers.  It comes back to this.  Hey man it is what it is.

I'm not sure I take your point. We all trade our time and talent for remuneration. Why is this a problem with providers? Most offer a competitive price and provide the service as requested. Do you have any delusions that they got into this profession to give away their time for free?

I take it you work for free. Or maybe for sandwiches and housing?

I mean, your boss may very well have some money issues some weeks. He got in a car accident, or his grandma died. So I'm sure you don't mind a few dollars here and there being left out of your check weekly, right?

Psst... It's 100% about money, and a very nice, fun, convenient job that I would NOT be doing if there was no money in it. Why are you surprised about this? Lol. I have no problem getting dick IRL. Why would I pay for advertising, put work into networking, websites, ads, photo shoots, (I hate photo shoots lol.)  Money controls ALL of our lives. Anyone who says they are happy without it is LYING. ;)

It's the cultural and societal structure that the piece of paper represents. It's the manifestation of your assent to our system, our way of life. The more one acts as though what lies beneath and behind it is "right", the more one is rewarded with comfort and security.

You squandered a teachable moment about the virtues of hard work and the perils of improvidence. You’re never going to become the Aesop of TER by phoning it in. I suggest you re-read “The Ant and the Grasshopper” and try again.

I mean, it's obvious to me that the only way to avoid commodification and exploitation of themselves by the system is to give away sex for free.

What am I missing?

But you've got it wrong. The problems with the ladies have nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with professionalism, or lack thereof. You would think that such an expensive hobby would guarantee professionalism, but it doesn't work that way. Some ladies are, and some aren't. I know the reverse is also true. A lady might think that four bills will guarantee a respectful gentleman. But I've heard some weird stories over the years. We all come to each session with our own set of problems, and they have nothing to do with the money we exchange. But that's why we see the ladies. They offer us, if they take their craft seriously, a perfect moment in time. Where all our problems can be forgotten for an hour or two. I for one, love them for that. Even if I have to deal with a lack of professionalism from time to time.

I'm not sure what you're saying Z.

Are you calling me a wet pussy for trying to control your life?

Are you saying I'm ugly like a wet pussy, and I control your life because you have to kiss me?

Are you saying I'm floppy like a wet pussy, and if I could just get it up, you might have a little fun?

Are you saying I'm angry like a wet pussy, and you have to be more psychologist, than escort?

Are you saying that your wet, beautifully gorgeous pussy is waiting to control my entire life?

It's the last one? That's what I was hoping for. Please take me! My life is yours!! http://www.theeroticreview.com/library/style/i/emoticons/teeth_smile.gi

But how we earn it. RT is a man with a Victorian soul. The central thesis to all of his posts is that being a provider is a character flaw. By his sensibilities, desperation, laziness and greed drove us to a Faustian bargain for easy riches.

He was off point by not having the message on the bill signed by Satan. As I said – he phoned this one in

We all pay one way or another with our time whether you are married or in a relationship or even at the store in line waiting to buy that one thing that you went to the store for and that annoying person is in front of you counting out exact change (you know those people!)
If you are married or in a relationship don't you wish that maybe you would get paid to cuddle or even talk to the other one? What if your significant other is fighting with you. Where do you turn? The ones who will not fight with you but make sure you are the one person that really matters at that time! We are not here just for the physical aspect of it but sometimes the emotional and other aspects of it as well. Our time is valuable just like yours is. Just my two cents.

Zana

Your point is well taken Mocha.

You wouldn't go into an Italian restaurant expecting to order the best Chinese food available so why come to a P4P site and expect anything different?

Some people, no matter how often it gets explained to them, really get "it"

I try to match myself up with guys I'm going to really enjoy meeting and being with in the fun dept.

Of course it's how I choose to support myself financially but I'd say for me at this point in my life, it's maybe more like 65-70% about the money. I decline dates if I think we won't be simpatico.

He's one of those who has said his wife helped him thru the most difficult times of his life, blah blah blah and he sees P4P women for the nasty freaky things he's into, and for the time he's booked them, their asses are his.

Would you say he suffers from the Madonna/Whore Complex, or are his issues far more dark than that?

in an existential sense of being in love.

You get me completely.  I do have a Victorian soul.  But you are mistaken about my post.  I DO NOT believe that being a Provider is a character flaw.  However, I believe that most Providers do have a character flaw.  There is a substantive difference in the two statements.

The majority of Providers I have met with seem to have the acquisition of $$$ at the core of their actions.  I go to work for the $$$ but the $$$$ does not draw me to the work.  Therein, lies the difference dear Rasha.  You are asking yourself "how can that be RT".

I reference the work of Modigliani and Miller and the Black-Scholes pricing equation.  To sum it up.  In a perfect world (if $$$ were no object) I would still be in the field of my chosen profession in some capacity.

Would Providers still provide services if $$$ were no object?

Think HONESTLY BEFORE YOU ANSWER DEAR RASHA.

No, I believe most providers would NOT be in this field if money did not matter. Why would they be? It is illegal and dangerous (in many more ways than one) and the high prices you pay providers reflect not only (in your case, specifically, the unpleasantness of the work) but also the risk they take by seeing you as well as the social stigma and taboos they may face by providing at all. So you are angry that money "controls" people's lives? Welcome to America.

I think your inference from capital structure theory and option call pricing to optimum career choices is quite the leap.  But as long as we’re playing in your bailiwick, I prefer to think of this business as more akin to opportunistic investment strategy.

If money were no object, exactly who would work?  A hobby is not a profession - but I'll play.  If a baker didn't need money would he/she still bake?  Yes.

Would Betsy and I still have adventures with men?  Yes.

It's just such a silly question to pose, though.  It's a straw grasping and straw man argument based on perhaps your own conflicted sexual feelings with what you do and simply a projection on us.  I do hope you work it out, I really do.  Life is too short, you know
