I'm a relative newbie, but I have been reading this Board frequently for several months.  I do not recall ever seeing MP67 seriously threaten anyone with violence. (I don't regard a threat on the internet to someone you don't know and probably can't find particularly serious.)  Moreover, I have not heard of MP67 ever actually doing anything bad (violence, outing, whatever) to anyone.  If I am wrong, and people are actually and reasonably afraid of having something hurt besides their feelings, then Admin probably should do something.  Or if MP67 writes so much that he is causing servers to crash or whatever. But that's not my impression.

Is MP67 sometimes funny, interesting, enlightening, rude, offensive, obscene, self-absorbed, entertaining, irrelevant and (presumably) drunk?  Yes, to all of the above. So what? So are a number of other people who post on this Board.  

I personally enjoy reading most of his posts (but, then again, I haven't pissed him off yet).  If I were his Mother or even a close friend, I would probably worry about him.  But I'm not.  As someone said above, if you can't stand him, skip the post.  It's not like he bothers to use aliases (at least I don't think so).

In short, lighten up.  For the guys, at least, this is called a "hobby"; the ladies have reason to take what is said on the Board more seriously.   If you don't like what MP67 says (or MP67 himself for that matter), tell him he's an asshole or ignore him.  But "banning" him sounds like a bunch of religious or political fundamentalists trying to "purify" their little community - which I find hilarious in this context.

when it comes to threatening others or the hint of, a line should be drawn, your posts should be removed and you should be admonished for it, but not banned.

I do believe everyone has the right to express/voice their opinions, but not at the expense or detriment of others.

As for the vulgarities you spew in your post, I do take offense but I guess it is a reflection of who you are or the persona you like to portray, that said, even thou I consider it offensive, you do have that right as long as you do not use it to bully others.

I think your posts are amusing, funny at times, you do make some good points (not always), and sometimes irrelevant, I think it serves a purpose; for myself, it reminds me of my ex-wife, and when I feel nostalgic, I search for your newest posts.

For what it's worth, I agree with H-V.  MP, sometimes you're funny, sometimes insightful, and everyone needs a taking down from time to time.  But a lot of your many posts get a bit tiresome and childish after a while.  This is supposed to be an adult forum -- most of the adults here know more about fun than non-participants.  I'd like to see it stay that way, or get even better.  For sure, you have a right to post whatever you want, subject to the "rules."  So I hope you will exercise your brain more than your mouth in the future.  Just my .02.

In Conclusion, I apologize for responding to your thread Mike and really mulled it over and over whether to do so. So I am here really because we have had some incidents. So part of the reason *I am* responding is we have some history. Not like you and mrfisher because he has met you.

First you reached out to me about this very issue in PM’s. Boy you do love the PM system. And I will confess her that I responded to you with my own story of  being a drunk and what it cost me in life. My career, my wife and kids, housing and other things we all take for granite. However, 30 years ago I woke up looked in the mirror and was shocked. Horrified actually as to what I had become. Yeah I got out of the hole I was in made it big in my own business again and turned it around. Many are not that lucky. When I responded with that, which was much longer than this mini-confession, I never heard back from you. Not a peep. That said a world of information about you. Look, you will reach bottom one day, but you have to do it all on your own terms. I hope you do well.

On the second time you asked me a couple of times to call you. I did not but then finally did and sure enough you were drunk on your ass. You did most of the talking (subject remains between you and ), while I mostly listened for over 30 minutes on my dime.

I enjoy reading the boards, some of it is funny, some is stupid, and some even useful. But I don't take it seriously, if I come across something I don't like or agree with I just shake my head and move on.  There are way more important things going on in the world, I'll save my energy and stress over things that really matter and focus where I can make a difference.

I consider MP67 my friend. While I have never met him I have talked to him on the phone. He has helped me with some issues I have had and found him to be an OK person and a friend. Does he have some issues? Yes, but who does not. Is he vulgar? Yes, but many people think this hobby and the people in it are vulgar and from their point of view they are right. I have heard worse things than his post. Has he crossed the line? Maybe, but I feel I have crossed the line my self in one instance. Does he deserved to be banned? No. I enjoy reading many of his posts and yes there have been times I feel he may have gone to far. He calls things like he sees them and as often as not I agree with him. Not that I would express myself the way he does but his opinion is often insightful if you look beyond his language. I truly believe him when he says, "I don't mean any harm." It just how he is. Now for you who are offend by his posts a wise person said something that goes kind of like this, "No one can offend you without your permission." You do not have to read his posts and you can choose not to take his post personally. Anther wise person once said something like, "Only a fool takes offence when none was meant, Only a bigger fool takes offence when it was meant, as he gives his enemy power to manipulate him." In sort if you don't like what he has to say move on, but please do not try to silence him or anyone else. We have far to many PC police in the world we do not need them in the hobby. I know other do not agree but I would miss his posts and I feel the TER community would be worse off if he left.
