OK, in Ridgetucky's first sensible OP ever I talked about my limited experience with watersports.  So that made me think about scat play.  Meaning poo. Doing it.  Playing with it, etc.  Now, I am very un-judgmental and get pissed at people who judge the sexual preferences of others.  The only things that are taboo for me are non-consensual sex and sex with minors.  If you like pain, fine.  If you like poo, fine.
Personally, the smell of poo or farts totally turns me off.  If it turns you on, that's OK by me.  The only issue I have with it is the hygienic aspect.  Poo is full of e-coli and it can make you sick as hell.  It's also really bad if it gets into the vagina.  So I wonder how do scat-lovers deal with that?  What is it that turns you on about scat play?  I dare you to try talking me into it.  And I love to DATO, just as long as it's squeaky clean.  I suppose some will say that no bunghole, no matter how well scrubbed can be guaranteed free of e-coli.  Still, I've never caught anything from doing it.

but my answer to the thread below also reflects my opinion on scat.  

When I was new, I got to know someone (a few people actually, but I only knew one very well) who did this stuff. The answer to your hygienic question, from what I could see: same attitude as BBFS. Risks be damned, e. coli be damned, if you do [insert voodoo ritual here] before/after your appointment, you won't get sick. That shit pays, too (pun intended).

Not sure what turns people on about it...I asked that too. I was told that it's the 'forbidden' and 'dirty' aspect of it.  

It's one of our strongest instincts to be turned off by poo...back in the day, parasites presented one of the most serious and common risks to our health. I read once that male gorillas won't have sex w/a female w/diarrhea unless they absolutely cannot get any other partner...and they'll even go so far as to clean off the bottom before diving in. Sorry for the visual, but just making a point as to how strange - biologically speaking - it would be for a human to develop this particular fetish.

It's really not like that. Not 'I'm asking advice on the behalf of my friend who I can't name'... lol. I'm not into scat and actually am quite risk-averse and health-conscious in almost everything. But when I was new, I actively sought out relationships with providers and got to know a few from very different sectors of the hobby. I'm very non-judgmental, more so in those days, but some of that (a lot) was naivete, honestly. I do believe that preferences should be respected...we're all weird in some way. But sometimes, it's a fine line between saying 'it's his/her preferences, to each his/her own' and being kind of flippant about the realities involved. But ultimately, we can only control ourselves, so who cares what someone else does, unless it harms us in some way? So that's kind of what I meant.

Personally, my jury is out on necrophilia.  While I understand people develop kinks like this for some sort of psychological reason that I don't judge negatively, I do have a problem with someone violating a corpse.  I'm sure the corpse doesn't care but it doesn't, for me, fall into the category of consensual sex.
