Yep since then she's had a child abuse charge and now she's charged with murder!.

This was an an ugly, case that divided a city. The DA up for re-election lost his damn mind, lost his job and has a criminal record now. A coach lost his job, innocent lacross players  were dragged thru the mud. The lacross players won a large civil suit and they deserved every dollar they got.

That being said, rape isn't about looks it's about power over another person.

And women who falsely accuse a man of rape are scum and should be prosecuted.

First, I would not try to defend this woman in any way.  But let's recall a few things accurately about her vs. the Duke lacrosse team.  I followed this adventure fairly closely and it reeked of some form of service (lap dance, escort, gang bang...who knows?) for money deal gone bad.  It looked like the 2 parties had different expectations and the accuser thought her best angle was accusing some guys of a rape for which there was inadequate evidence and an overly aggressive prosecutor who executed poor judgment at starting the wheels of justice grinding forward.  

Before we call the lacrosse team "innocent," let's recall that these guys were widely known as thugs on campus and in Durham, with police routinely called to out-of-control parties they hosted.   They were widely viewed as an ugly part of the university, no matter how successful their teams were.  While this did not justify them being (apparently) falsely accused of rape, let's not pretend these were poor little boys picked on by this evil woman.   They were rich, spoiled brats who did little to protect their own reputations and gave the wrong people (police and DA) a reason to dislike them.

Did they deserve to be accused, arrested, arraigned, and a trial started for a rape if they did not commit one?  Of course not.  But pretending they were innocent victims is equally inaccurate.

Remember when Al Sharpton swooped in on the Tawana Brawley affair? Brawley was never raped but the public and the Criminal Justice system were.
