Newbie here....can someone explain to me how work verification work? Does the provider just call your office and asked for your name from the receptionist to make sure its legit info?  Or do they call you directly in your office?

Is there any other verification methods besides work if you have no references?

Most ladies will NOT accept a direct line to you at work, unless it is publically listed on a company directory... or some other means to ensure that they are really calling the place of business.  

Every lady determines her own screening methods.  Asking how it is done, and what other verification a lady will accept is nearly useless.  Ask the lady in question.

BTW, most of us will NOT go into detail about our screening process in a forum like this.  Why would we make it easier to fake your way through?!?

Although each of us ladies have our own verification methods and standards, We each know the need for discression when verifying references and work. You will find that we value our reputations for reliability and discression thus I feel I am speaking for the majority of reputable ladies if not all when I say that when we verify someone, his identity, work, references etc, we do so as discretly and professionaly as any attorney or doctor and we feel that our clients deserve the same confidentiality as the above mentioned professionals

That verified all of my work (main company exchange phone number, and my desk number) over the internet and never contacted my directly except over email to say that everything was ok.

I will screen, screen, screen. Every provider does have a method of screening. But, for me to feel comfortable, I do ask for both references AND employment info at once. Some references, I do not trust, so at least I have the option of using just that. When I check his employment info, I do look itup on line. I also ask that he tell me, what company I should be calling from, when contacting him: briefly, and discreetly. I would never meet someone, that I could not speak with, directly at work. That lets me know, that he does indeed work there. I know of some ladies who may just meet at a drop of a hat, without screening. That is why I will not use their references. There are a group of ladies, that I do entirely trust, to use as references. That is why, I always ask for both info.

I think I just screwed up
I am a newbie (after you here this you will see why). Any way, I contacted this provider by email. She emailed my back in a few days. She asked me for a provider reference and of course I had none. So I sent her my office work number. Well after reading this post I have learned my number is unlisted. I should have given her the main office number and let her inquire about me through the main number, right? Needless to say this has been 4 days ago and I have not heard a word from her. I think I will give her a few more days and if no reply email her an apology and give her the main office (listed) number. Hopefully she will understand because according to her reviews she is "one in a million". Any suggestions will be appreciated!
