What some nut case could do video taping the people going in, lists of plate numbers made, married men could still be blackmailed. The risks would be too high for me. I would rather a discrete woman visits my hotel or home even.

Maybe, but I doubt that brothels will ever be legal in other states besides Nevada.  I got my start in the hobby years ago when I started visiting some of the legal brothels in NV, but demographics makes seeing indies more practical

I recall news articles in the past where do gooders would take pictures of gents going into legal establishment porn shops in order to publish the pics and embarrass the clients. This was an effort to shut down the legal businesses.

Back when there still were such things, I visited the local adult book store to get porn.

One day I had to honk my horn repeatedly and almost run over some bible thumpers who were protesting outside. After I parked and was making my way inside, a OTHFB member of the Bible thumpers tried to shame me yelling at me about visiting such an establishment. I yelled back "what's my alternative, you? No thanks", it shut her up. Well they must have took my plate number because a few days later I get mail from the church telling me in no certain terms that Im a degenerative, perhaps they are right. I mailed them a reply, "I don't walk around with protest signs outside of your church, even though I consider the fairy tale of an unseen deity as ridiculous, keep your noses out of my fucking business", and I bonded and italicized "fucking", just to piss them off.  

Never heard back from those bible thumpers, thank goodness. Freedom of religion, or lack thereof, what a concept.

I avoid AMPs and agencies like the plague.  They're not all bad, but I'd rather have my fun with Independents who are having fun, too.  A brothel would be too much like an agency for me.

I really don't see anything wrong with a brothel.  I am just not interested enough in the experience to pony up to be a customer

Worked as a bouncer in a legal brothel, a long time ago.  And also visited as a customer.  But, I was in my twenties. Back then, the ladies would go straight home or to their other jobs. Sometimes I would drive some of them home, if they were concerned about certain clients.  
Now, in my 50's,  when I visit Australia, I see independents because the service is better.  But, I still would not have a problem walking into a brothel there. The brothels have some pretty anonymous entrances for the employees, so you'd have to be a client to realize who is leaving.
