Just curious about why a newbie provider would want a total newb for her first review...he has ZERO credibility, meaning it's not going to help her. It also seems a bit dangerous being neither of them know the ropes, and either one could be manipulated or worse. Would it not make more sense to spam your local board and look for ESTABLISHED hobbyists, to review you?
Any thoughts? I am going back to bed, but I will be here later lol.

he is well established in the hobby world. Now I have seen some newbie reviews from newbie guys and the lady has continued to get reviews from established hobbyists.

Reviews like that would not be disallowed, but simply held in queue until an established reviewer reviewed her as well.
Personally I think that was good policy, two complete unknowns basically vouching for each other doesn't give either the least bit of credibility IMO.
I have noticed reviews being passed more easily that are obvious shills. Back in the day, you could not even give a provider a 10/10 if it was your very first or even second review. I had plenty of guys who were total newbs that I screened by employment and then told them about TER. They said their reviews were not approved and they filled everything in correctly.
That was waaaaay back when Dave was running things. You are correct on the two unknowns as well. I would never accept a reference from a provider who just saw a new guy..means nothing to me. He is still new until he sees a WELL REVIEWED woman that I know personally, or at least that is easily verified.
I also hate how easy Date Check makes it for both providers and hobbyists to get on there...it's asinine. Preferred411 is much stricter, which is why I am glad to have it back.

When I joined P411 I had to jump through the same hoops as everybody else, and this was after having been here for a decade and having had hundreds of people who knew who I was. It was the first time i had to provide references in years, but that's what makes it a good resource, and even the prick that I am, I jumped through the hoops that she asked me to and feel that I am getting very good value for my money. If you let EVERYBODY in, it's not screening. lol
One that wouldn't fuck a newbie with no reviews with your dildo and one that looks to pounce on a newbie provider to be her first review to make himself feel good. Then we have the clusterfucks in the latter group who want to take advantage of the newbie providers.
If they are newbies they may not know any better then to target the group on the newbie board. They get a better reception there and the hobbyists won't question her or her review status like they would on a regional board.
There are a couple of providers on this board who obviously bypassed the newbie board and jumped in the GD board pool before it was filled with water. They should spend some time there and learn how to post and have an audience that will pity them and nurture them along.
Thank you, and the point about "pouncing on those who don't know better" is in line with what I was saying. What better way to rip off someone than to see the ones who are broadcasting that they don't have a clue. Oh, and by telling them "It's ok, trust me, I am legit."
would be referred, or just moved to the newbie board. Yet another policy from the "good old days' that should be given another look.
TER was never perfect, and there were many things that needed fixing, but there were some procedures in place that were here for a very good reason, and moving newbies to the newbie board for their own good was definitely one of them.
They have been threads that would have never made it to this board in the first place.
The newbie board is in bad shape without the frequent attention and proper moderation. Just because it's "nicer" doesn't mean it is always accurate or cultivating.
Mostly it really is for advice from experienced providers and hobbyists. I don't think newbie providers are looking for newbie clients - since they know they need reviews from established hobbyists. Just as newbie clients are encouraged to see well reviewed ladies the same goes for newbie providers. A newbie provider may have a better chance here than her local board because of the communication on and off this board (if she has PM) which may start out as newbie advice but may lead to a reviewer TOFTT.
I agree and great post by the way sir
long enough or you can't tell the difference. Some of the new providers have thrown themselves at hobbyists on the newbie board. I have seen it for many years. There have also been provider first reviews by hobbyists from that board.
If you think the providers are only there to get advice and to not get business on the newbie board, you should probably spend more time there yourself.
I don't think they are there only for advice. It is a national board and the ladies I have been in contact with and gave advice to freely by PM or email were not from my region (except for one) so I will probably never meet them in person. And none have "thrown themselves" at me (maybe I'm doing something wrong? LOL!). Sure, it is place for them to meet reviewers from their region who may TOFTT. Board presence and communication can help any newbie - they all need to get a break somehow.
(BTW - I am fairly new on TER but years ago I posted and did reviews on other boards "The Large Canine" and the one whose name sounds like a "perfect society" under a slightly different handle.)

I can tell you with absolute certainty that many ladies come on that board, not just to get or give advice but to advertise. I had to disallow several posts every single day that were thinly veiled, or sometimes not veiled at all ad posts which of course are not allowed on any national boards, including this one. It still doesn't stop them from trying and nowadays oftentimes succeeding in making posts that by all rights should not be allowed as they are plainly ad posts.
don't necessarily distinguish which board they are on, as long as they are getting their name out there. There are, after all, plenty of veteran hobbyists on the newbie board that the newbie provider may want to attract. I do, however, think it's a problem when newbie providers post bad advice on the newbie board, such as encouraging newbie hobbyists to TOFTT.
I agree that a newbie hobbyists writing a review on a newbie provider is not credible. That review will be seen as suspect and possibly fake until more veteran reviewers chime in.
I am sympathetic to newbie providers who want or need reviews -- I remember being there and begging clients to please, please, please review me. But back then I wanted reviews on the now-defunct site more than I wanted them here -- I liked that site better both for its layout and because it was less graphic. When that site went down I had only 2 or 3 reviews here, so then I started asking guys to review me here too. But now, I don't care if I get more reviews.

Ms. Natasha I really didn't mean to give out bad advice on the newbie board. I said toftt but I also corrected myself by saying make sure she is on datecheck or at least active on here. I feel bad for only trying to help

LE and thieves have also been known to participate on the boards. I was once ripped off by a very active board hobbyist -- he left me a thank you card in an envelope and nothing else.
Like I said, I'm truly sympathetic to your need for reviews, but until you've been around for a while you really need to be more of an advice taker, not giver.
I've been a member here since 2008, so when I say "newbie providers looking to see newbie hobbyists," I mean just that. It's like the blind leading the blind, and I just wanted to understand the rationale behind it.
I do not mean simply hanging out on the Newbie board, both seeking and giving advice. I am speaking of providers who do on purpose to stalk newbies because they are an easy target, and the hobbyists who do this as well.

In addition, the point that you brought up about bad advice on that board is spot on. Without an active moderator to jump in, it's like a free for all.
one?
Manipulated maybe, but hurt...I doubt it. With a vet hobbyist she can blacklist his handle since that is what he uses to brag his "status" and his escapades. A newbie hobbyist could be a cop, pimp, or stalker with no recourse for the provider to take, if she does not screen properly. My point is some people are willing to take too many risks for the almighty dollar, and it could be their last.

If you think about it, why would an old-timer John risk with a newbie provider? Looks like a new guy in the field would be the only one who could risk for a newbie provider. Also assuming that the new guy doesn't have much experience and knowledge of the review system, well he could be vulnerable.
At the same time I encountered a few providers who would only meet with certain numbers of reviews.
Any thoughts? I am going back to bed, but I will be here later lol.

They target the newbie board looking for providers they can offer to review and in return they want either discounted sex, free sex, or BBFS sex. Next thing you know, they want the girl to see "their buddies" which they make money off of, and when she refuses, they bash her.
Hey Preppie! Nice to see you around here, again! When we going to your first graduation? I know you are in Boston, so glad to see you were not hurt by the recent events.
Well I actually graduated LAST May. I am not in the New England region anymore (unfortunately). But if you wanna come to my graduation, haha there will be one in 3 years!

looking at peole in my work environment I often see a different kind of mindset--one I do not agree with but can understand the thought process.
New Person is hired. Clearly they would be better off getting advice and a lay of the land from people who have been working there longer, but some of them are intimidated. They lack confidence because "I don't know as much as he/she does; I don't want to sound stupid."
I suspect for some ladies in the business they feel a little insecure about their knowledge/ability/worldliness, and they think that a guy who is new to this won't see how little they know. Again, I don't agree with the philosophy, but I suspect it's one reason.
I met at least one young lady who was very (very) new to the business--another lady I know pointed me her way but didn't tell me I was her first client--certainly felt that way. She was a lovey, pretty lady and we were getting along very well through dinner and beyond. Then she found out I wasn't a "new guy" and she immediately became very nervous and worried, even though I told her she was doing fine. A while later she admitted she was afraid I would be compairing her to other more experienced ladies and I would think her unskilled.
That certainly makes sense, Old T. I just don't understand the mindset of the new group, I suppose.
HEA = happily ever after. An Anti-Pimp Tale...
