I just read an on line article saying that PL plans to kill off Shatner (How many times will that make it for him now?) and end the name your price bidding system that has been such a boon to hobbyists and escorts alike.

Does this mean the end of $50/night 4 star hotels on slow nights?

Do any of the other hotel booking sites allow you to bid for rooms, and if so, how are they to work with?

They are killing-off the "negotiator" character in order to change the focus of their advertising strategy.  While they are no longer emphasizing the "name your own price" option they are not eliminating it.

Cost aside, I'm more concerned with making sure I don't end up in an unfriendly hotel. I'm not aware that I can do that with Priceline and the savings (if any as they're tit for tat) never motivated me to sacrifice this feature on Hotwire.
