The internet has a very different definition of what is news-worthy as compared to a daily newspaper. The AP is no different. It is and always has been a continually streaming source of news stories and updates. While I agree that a Hooters renovation project is hardly worth a cry of "stop the presses!" that is not really what is going on with the AP.  It's just another factoid that made it to the website.  Even dumb-ass stories like this one get their turn at the top of the heap...

Whoever wrote that article .. I would like to know what kinda shit they are sniffing, it must be some good stuff.

Lousy beer, mediocre food and flat girls

Western MA Hooters waitresses seemed like good kids with nice smooth skin and toned bodies, including the one who took care of my baby sister and me. Both the sandwich and the chocolate mouse cake were good. The staff cheer to a birthday-boy at a nearby table was cute. But they might not be typical.

That old building was a death trap and I am shocked it was there so long. Ok, it was the first Hooters, great. A landmark, no, it was an eyesore.

In Clearwater though you have to remember its about 85% retiree's and they have the opinion if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Slow news day is all I can gather.

I was there before it was Hooters. I think it was called the owl lounge.  I was a underage drinker with a older buddy and we went drinking and stopped there.  On the way out some guy was beating the shit out of his girl friend and we had a moment of do we get involved?  We got just close enough to break his concentration and let him focus on us then realized how big he was and got the fuck out.  Hell they have redone that place at least three times that I have seen maybe more.  shit 30 years go fast.
